    I'm excited on starting my new journey. With work and age, I haven't taken as good care of myself as I should. I was in a very bad accident 5 years ago which has left me with a lot of pain, so high impact workouts are a no go. I'm hoping that eating a more balanced, healthier diet will help me lose some weight where I can do a little more physically without as much pain. It's been hard to do so on my own as I work a lot of hours and have to commute to work and home. It's so much easier to order food or pick up take out than to have to come home and cook for myself. Having Jenny Craig meals already prepared and ready to heat will be a great help for me. I'm looking forward to it

    Priceless...As a person who has tried to lose over the years - JC is priceless. I could say I save money on alcohol and eating out - but the real thing is my life is better. I would rather drive less of a car then not be able to get JC meals. Just my two cents.

    HI - I have never had gastric surgery, but Jenny Craig teaches portion control which I think is the key to maintaining. WIth the surgery you may need to divide your meals out into two smaller meals. The program also pairs you with a JC Consultant as you know - which can help you have an amazing support system. I continue to rely on my JC Consultant to help support me through every day stress and staying on my plan. One of the best features of the plan - is that the meals are all ready and available to you.     Looking to get back on Jenny Craig and the Ramen Noodle Bowl with Chicken & Veggies looks appealing except for the edamame. My experience with all frozen dinners (not just Jenny Craig's) is that if they show edamame in the photo on the package, then there are twice as much edamame in the actual dish. I feel about edamame, the way I feel about lima beans - they taste like wax. Why don't you have dishes that have spinach or even broccoli in them? What's this obsession in the frozen dinner industry with edamame these days?

    Just can't wait to try the new dinners. They look fabulous. One of my favorites is the pumpkin loaf. Looking forward to a crisp fall morning and having my coffee and pumpkin loaf on my back deck. Love my Jenny food.

    Just an FYI, to keep celery for an ridiculous amount of time wrap in tin foil. I have had celery that lasted well over a month!

    I see the real you in your after photo. Congratulations. I joined JC in 2008. Lost 60 lbs in about 18 months and have kept it off. I've had different, wonderful consultants over the years and I, too, even on maintenance, have needed them for success. I look forward to her monthly call. I'll be 65 this year and my motivation for keeping the weight off is that I don't want to take away the gift I gave to myself--to become my natural weight. I didn't really know what that was as I battled excess weight all my life. Good job taking the weight off while you are young and can enjoy your new natural self for many years to come. Over time you will only remember yourself as slender. And good job to your mother and brother too. Peace and joy.

    What genes are specifically being tested? I got my results back but it didn’t say in the analysis. I’d like to know as I have a background in genomics and obesity so I can actually understand a fair amount without needing to have a genetic counselor go over every detail with me! Thanks.

    yes, I'm on the Classic Menu. I'm into my 9th week and I've lost 14.8 lbs and 10 3/4 inches. Slow and steady wins the race 27 lbs to go...

    I am 69 years old and with a neck injury I have not been able to swim or go to my Gym the last few years. As a result my weight has fluctuated from 115 lbs to 136 lbs and everything in between. So frustrating and heartbreaking at times. So, yes, I ditto the stretch knits for tops, dresses, and bottoms. I live in stretch jeans with at least 5% Lycra for everyday comfort and style. For church, meetings, and dining out, I love to wear either black or grey stretch knit pants. My pretty long-sleeve cotton knit tops from JCP in various colors give my wardrobe a pop of color, and worn with a smile keeps attention off my fluctuating weight! Accepting where I am is my positive attitude!

    The new entrees look interesting. I still miss the 3 Cheese Ziti. It was a classic pasta and tomato sauce entree that I really enjoyed. It was also a dinner that one could add a veggie to and it was almost a one dish dinner. The new Pecan Chicken entree looks like it might be too sweet for me, but I'll try it. I'm not a fan of the Squash Ravioli. I'm one that likes more basic entrees that can be doctored up to one's personal taste.

    The two new meals look wonderful and I'm anxious to try them. I'm not particularly crazy about pumpkin food, but will give it a try. I've said I don't think I would like to eat other dishes and sometimes they turn out to be one of my favorites!

    Thank you for that. I have struggled with 10 pounds here and there back and forth many times and never had the courage to go to Jenny Craig. I didn't want to be laughed at. I have known people that want to lose 50+ lbs that have mocked me because I'm stressing over those 10 lbs. I love nice clothes and 10 lbs means looking nice in them or not. It is incredibly hard to drop 10 lbs when that is all you need to take off. Those 10 lbs are on there like concrete. I have tried everything from literally starvation to eating nothing but veggies and salad for weeks and none of it works. I finally have sadly moved up to needing to lose 23 and am in tears most days over it. Reading this is very encouraging that people are beginning to realize the number of pounds are not the issue. The important thing is that you love who you are and if you don't then do something to fix it and not be at risk of ridicule or criticism.

    Just started today on Cinco De Mayo. Looking forward to this journey. I have a long way to go but feel hopeful and encouraged today. This plan will take a lot of stress off of me. One less thing to worry about with all of the menu's done for me. Really excited! Kim R.

    Hi, The easiest ways to measure solid foods is with a food scale. You don't have to get anything fancy, just a basic food scale will tell you how many ounces a food like meat, chicken, fish, etc is. You can weigh it after it is cooked since some water cooks out.

    Hi @Gerri Pruchnicki, The Soup Additions are 'extras' if you want them, you do not have to have one each day. They can be enjoyed as an appetizer or a tasty snack in between meals if you are hungry. Each Soup Addition is 70 calories and counts as 2 Limited Free Foods and 1 Vegetable. Ask your consultant to add some to your next order so you can try them. Best Wishes!

    I am very excited about being on Jenny Craig. Like a lot of others I've tried everything out there. I even tried Jenny before, ten years ago. I have a whole new outlook on life now as my weight has caused quite a few health issues for me. I am ready now, for the first time, truly ready. I am able to accept that the journey to get to this weight wasn't overnight and neither will it be to lose this weight. This is my third week on Jenny and I am doing well, the food is great and the support of my consultant is great. She is awesome. I have a long journey ahead of me and I am looking forward to it.

    I am excited to start this journey. I am at the weight I was having my second child. I want to love myself in my own skin and know that the time is now to make a difference in my body, because everyday the weight is just going up!!! The Goal is to drop 25-30lbs and love myself while on the big family vacation in 12 weeks!!! DJM

    I love cutting up my fresh carrots and steaming them till they are very soft. I add spray butter, a little cinnamon, and a dash of sugar substitute. Mash till soft. Delicious.

    I am heading into week 2 feeling good, learning the ropes and realizing that starving myself is NOT the answer but feeding my body is the key to true weight loss & a healthier lifestyle! I look forward to losing & maintaining this new healthy Me!!

    Hi @AllisonFMiller, Welcome to the community! You can find most of this information in the Getting Started Guide which you should have received during your first consultation or in your first shipment. If you did not get one, please ask your consultant for one right away. The Grocery List which is in the back of the guide (on pages 38-47) lists each food group and the choices/serving sizes. In case you do not have this guide yet, you can see the Grocery List here. You can find examples of Fruits and Healthy Fats there. An example of a healthy fat is 6 almonds. You do not have to have it at dinner either just because it is listed there. You can move the foods/snacks around in your day to what best fits your hunger and schedule so you could have the almonds as a snack or with your lunch if you want. Any fruit is fine, just stick with the serving size that is listed in this guide. For example, if you menu says 1/2 Fruit, you will see in the Fruit list that 2 small tangerines counts as ONE Fruit choice so you would want to have 1 tangerine which = 1/2 Fruit. Your consultant can help you navigate and understand your menu. As for preparing vegetables, the community members here have great ideas that they share- look in the Food section. We advise roasting, steaming and cooking with any herbs/spices of your choice and you can use nonstick cooking spray or if you have 1 Fat from your menu to use you can use 1 tsp oil to saute or roast them in.
