What is intermittent fasting?

Rapid Results Max leverages a form of intermittent fasting referred to as time-restricted eating: nourishing your body over a 10-hour period and then allowing your body to rejuvenate by refraining from food and caloric beverages for the remaining 14 hours (most of this time is spent sleeping!).


This 14:10 eating pattern is based on published science that shows weight loss can occur when a person finishes their last meal in the early evening and allows 14 hours of fasting to rejuvenate the body.1  While research is ongoing, studies indicate that time-restricted eating may have profound benefits such as weight management, inflammation reduction and blood sugar control.2

How does Rapid Results Max work?

Rapid Results Max is an example of the most credible form of intermittent fasting called time-restricted eating — eating for a specific number of hours each day (nourishment period) and then refraining from food and caloric beverages for the remaining time (rejuvenation period). To get the best weight loss results and blood sugar improvements, most experts agree that 12 hours of fasting is the baseline to achieve these goals.3 Adding two more hours may enhance these benefits.

How can you eat and remain in a metabolic fasted state?

What does a day on Rapid Results Max look like?

It’s a simple 3-step process: Rest, Recharge & Repeat!

1. Rest

Let your body reset. Take a break from food and caloric beverages during the 14-hour rejuvenation period. This is a critical reset period for your body to regroup and regenerate after a busy day metabolizing food. Most of this time is spent sleeping!


2. Recharge

So, if you start your rejuvenation/fasting period at 7 p.m., you can eat your Recharge Bar at 7 a.m. and then enjoy your breakfast at 9 a.m. For the remaining 10 hours of the day, nourish yourself with Jenny Craig’s chef-crafted meals and snacks.

How is the Rapid Results Max program different from the Rapid Results or Classic program?

The Jenny Craig Classic Program is known for and praised by weight loss experts for its perfectly-portioned, balanced and delicious menus. This is coupled with the support of a Jenny Craig weight loss coach to address what and how much to eat. With the addition of Rapid Results, we now incorporate the timing or “when” to eat.

I’m new to intermittent fasting. Are there any tips to make it easier?

Yes! Rapid Results Max makes intermittent fasting easier with the help of our revolutionary Recharge Bar — you can eat while you fast to avoid feeling hungry! Many members say they don’t feel like they’re fasting because they still eat frequently throughout the day on the program. Here are some general tips to help make intermittent fasting easier:


Aim for 7-9 hours of sleep each night.

The National Sleep Foundation recommends adults get at least 7 hours of shut-eye a night. Getting enough sleep is a great way to support your overall health and may help you avoid overeating since lack of sleep has been linked to hormones that may influence hunger.10


Follow your menu plan.

Stick to your Rapid Results Max menu plan and make sure to enjoy all of your meals and snacks throughout the day. Jenny Craig menus are created by registered dietitians and nutritionists to promote healthy weight loss. Following your plan is key to achieving the best results possible!


Stay hydrated.

It’s easy to mistake thirst for hunger! If you have the urge to eat at night, you might actually need to drink some water. Instead of snacking, have a cup of soothing green or herbal tea. It’s the perfect way to unwind and hydrate.

If you are not hungry at the 12 hour fasting mark, can you consume the recharge bar at another time during the day, when you are craving or hungry, without any adverse effects?

We recommend eating the Recharge Bar in the morning to help you extend your fast and reap all of the amazing benefits of intermittent fasting! The bar is specifically designed to help keep your body in fat-burning mode and help keep your body in a metabolic fasted state. The goal is to complete a 14-hour fast, so if you want to eat the Recharge Bar at hour 13 or even 14 followed before your breakfast, that would work as well! Of course, if you want to eat it later in the day you can, but for the best results, we advise eating it in the morning. Let us know if you have any other questions.

What are the implications for moving the fruit to breakfast? 

Also, under Rapid Results (1200 calorie level) there was a fat at lunch so I could have dressing for my salad. Is that now completely gone? If not, what are my options?

Thank you for your comment! You can absolutely eat your fruit in the morning if you prefer. The most important thing is that you are eating what is on your daily menu. On Rapid Results Max, you can have up to 3 Limited Food items per day, and this includes Jenny Craig dressing/low-calorie dressing! So you're welcome to have it on the plan.
