    It’s been over a month without Fish & Chips on the menu. I love fish and that once-a-month can of tuna salad just isn’t enough.  Are there any plans for some other fish entree?  Thanks

    I have been on rapid results max for a few months and have reached my goal. I just switched to the Essential plan, which is just breakfast, lunch, and dinner so that i can slowly "wean" off of Jenny Craig. Do you follow a specific menu with this plan, or do you just pick and choose what you want each day?

      I think you pick and choose.  


      Something I did when I started maintenance was adding my own breakfasts.  I found out I could make my own french toast with light multigrain bread and egg whites, pancaked using Kodiak cake mix, cereal using Cherrios.  Just be sure to measure.  Oh, I also made breakfast burritos with egg whites,  Laughing Cow light cheese, and veggies.  Breakfasts were a great place to dip my toe into MOMO (meals on my own).


      A great tool is My Fitness Pal.  I tracked for a couple years with MFP and learned a lot about planning my own daily menus.

    So I’m starting tomorrow.  My food came after I talked to my coach.  On my menu it says a breakfast and a Jenny Craig Shake.  I didn’t get any shakes.  What do I substitute for it?  I don’t live by a center so I can’t just drop in.

      Add a milk.  If you haven't' already done it, download the Jenny app on your phone.  The getting started guide is there, which helps you figure out exchanges for things like fruits, veggies. and milks.

      I have a follow up to this question too. Can almond milk, unsweetend, 30 calories per cup substitue the milk? I read it should be counted as a starch? If so, is milk considered a starch too?

    Have been on the diet for 9 weeks so far. I have been enjoying the progress, albeit it slowing down more recently. Have been at the same weight for five days. I know it’s part of the process- but any tips for a standstill like this? I exercise and follow the plan blindly .. looking for some ideas. Thanks!

      I’ve been thinking about adding extra protein daily, you just reminded me of that! I was trying to research at what point your body is in too much of a calorie deficit, but couldn’t find any sources online with a definitive answer. Thank you!!

      I don't know if a consultant would recommend it. But if I'm famished and I've just worked out, an extra 2 oz or 4 oz of low-fat cheese seems reasonable. I'm guessing a protein shake would work too!

      A 5 day standstill is not in the least bit uncommon.  The best thing for you to do is stay the course.  Weight loss does slow down as you get closer to your goal.  The good news is, each pound you lose packs a bigger punch as far as how it makes you look and feel.  


      That said, I must admit I had a goal date (my son's wedding) for my weight loss.  As the date approached, I felt like I needed to pick it up.  I started doing BeachBody 21 Day Fix Workouts and increasing my steps.  Walking is incredible for calorie burn.  So much more than you can imagine!  Increasing my exercise definitely increased my hunger, but I was determined to be the person on the outside I felt like on the inside for my son's wedding.  I was so proud of myself when I made it.  Plus, the effort transformed my approach to food and exercise.  I have maintained my weight loss for 6 years!


      Stick with the plan.  Don't give up.  You will reach your goal.

    Do you have plans that doesn't include beef/steak? And you substitute the beef/steak.meals? Also, the desserts.on the Max plan are there other healthier choices?

    Hi. I am back on the program after 25 years. My question is, why does this program have so many treats, desserts, and foods with higher carb content and then it limits real foods like fruits and vegetables because of the calorie\carb content? It makes more sense to have an apple instead of the s’mores bar. More vitamins, minerals,water and fiber. Thanks

      Hi Nonameavailable I'm not an expert but I think the idea with Jenny is everything in moderation. You get carbs, protein, and fat, and you get adequate fruits and veggies.


      I've been doing Jenny for 6 weeks and lost 19 pounds so far. I also have let myself have a couple of extra servings of fruit a week and pretty much unlimited vegetables so far. I'm happy with it. That's not recommended (the fruit part) I guess but I'm worried about making changes for life that work for me.


      It is my understanding that non-starchy vegetables are unlimited, the amount on your plan is just a minimum!

      @RachelP123nailed it on this answer.  Jenny Craig changed my relationship with food.  I used to see foods as "good" or "bad."  Dieting was a fight with food as I tried to enjoy eat the "good" foods and eliminate the "bad" ones.  After doing Jenny, I realized I can eat all the foods I enjoy as long as I watch my portions and eat a good variety of foods.  Thanks to Jenny, I now have a good relationship with food.  I lost 40 pounds and have maintained that loss for 6 years!

    Restarting after being gone a year and it feels great!  I have found it very helpful this time around to have cut up condiments ready in my fridge to add to my meals, like onions, peppers, mushrooms. It makes everything more filling and tasty!

    It doesn’t seem like the app matches the paper menus or the office system. So frustrating to constantly change items out when I’m following the menu as planned :(

      I was having that issue and I contacted them, apparently the first tab on the app you can select which  menu mine has been on PR Max, but not the PR Max NEW, when I selected that in the dropdown it was the same as the paper menu that I go at the center.  I hope this helps!

    Top 10 Questions for a Nutritionist

    If the Recharge bar does not hinder ketosis during the fasting period, is it okay to eat it at night instead of in the morning? I tried having the bar at night to stop my cravings after dinner and found it really helpful. Plus, some days having it an hour or two before breakfast feels like too much food for me in the morning. Thoughts from a nutritionist would be welcome. Thanks!

      Hi Jrsy_girl. I have encountered the same issue. I originally joined many years ago when it was a lifetime membership. If memory serves there was no obligation to renew yearly which I am now told was a requirement. I was at a 35% discount. I stopped at least once then went back later with the discount applied.

      How long ago did you originally join? I would love to get my discount back as the $ have certainly increased.

      Who did you call? Thank you for any advice you can provide.

    Starting Day 2 today.  Day 1 wasn't so bad. I am actually surprised at how good the food is...but it's so processed that if they didn't process in flavor, I'd be disappointed. 


    I find the app very clunky to use...and as a software development consultant who specializes in the end user experience, it's killing me!  But I will live!

      The app...is not terrible but could definitely be better. I wonder why it takes so long to load, why I always have to expand all 15 times a day to log, mostly...it gets the job done.
