I Need To Put Up Or Shut Up...



So, this past weigh in I was a bit disappointed with my result. It was my own fault. I had hoped for more and did not get it. But there was a silver lining. I felt the positive outcome was this part:

"It is all up to me how next week turns out. If I am not happy with the loss from this week, I need to change something that I did or did not do. There is no one to take the responsibility for how I feel at weigh in except me.

I own my actions.

I own my results."

Since I rather don't like the taste of crow I hopped up on my treadmill yesterday for the first time in a long time. Forty minutes, and quite a bit of sweat later, I turned off "The Matrix" and went to take a shower. I was proud that I had upped the ante by using an incline of 7 during the faster 30 min portion whereas I used to only use an incline of 1 or 2.

Now to be fair to those who work REALLY hard, my definition of "fast" is not truly fast to most. I do a speed of 2.5mph right now. My right side is significantly weaker than my left (gotta love the effects of MS) so I am always playing a game of catch up with that side. Maybe someday I will be able to go at a decent pace...but that's a task for another day.

But anyway you look at it, I challenged myself. I broke a sweat. I got off the couch.

Today's task? Today is a 45 min group lesson in Cha Cha and Tango.

Friday? 2 hour Halloween social ballroom dance.

I LOVE social dance! I took a class in college... I really want to get a Wii, maybe for Christmas because my 16 month daughter really loves dancing... she gets it from her momma and i think it would be fun. Good job on changing up your routine. Doing something is always better than doing nothing.

Ahhh the Cha Cha and Tango lesson sounds so much fun!!!!! Dancing is such a fun way to get your exercise in without it feeling like..well tedious exercise if you know what I mean! haha. You are so inspiring - I am with you this week and am going to increase my exercise too! I also really want to try some dance games on my wii as well, I heard they are a great way to burn some calories! I will have to go pick up a dance game this week if I can - thank you and FaizaYagi for the great idea!! (:
