OK so I made my "goal." Now what?

Saturday when I weighed in I was at my goal. I lost 50 pounds in 116 days. I feel (and look, most of the time) thin. BUT I'm still 23 pounds over the highest weight in the "ideal" range. Hmmm. I should have set my goal lower. I just blurted out "50 pounds" when they asked my how much I wanted to lose because I didn't think I'd do it. It seemed like an impossible dream. But now I'm at my goal, and it really wasn't all that hard. I'm in weight-losing mode. I don't want to stop. And I'd love to kno

Falling off the Wagon

3 months into my third go-round, 47 pounds down. Feeling great, looking great. Son comes home from college for Thanksgiving week visit, I stuff myself at dinner and sit in front of the TV until midnight stuffing myself with junk. Idiot. Have I changed nothing? Have I learned NOTHING? Where did the willpower go? Where did the discipline go? I cannot go back. My son didn't want to come home. He's bored here. His friends are at college. We ask too many questions, hold him accountable for his r

Gastroenteritis silver lining.

13 weeks in. 44 pounds down. I haven't cheated one single calorie this time around. I haven't had a peanut butter M&M, the "crack cocaine" of the previous me, since I started. Jalapeno Cheetos, my go-to on the road snack, disappeared. Bread...gone. I'm wearing clothes I never thought I'd get into. I weigh-in every Saturday morning. I contracted some sort of bug last Thursday. Stomach virus. Dragged myself into JC Saturday morning. 5 pounds down from the previous week. Obviously from the sto

Exercising seems to be counter-productive.

Having lost 34 pounds now, I can actually go to the gym again and get in a good hard work out. But brother watch out when I get home! Now I know these machines are notoriously inaccurate, so if the machine says I burned 500 calories, I'll say 400. But when I get home, I'm HUNGRY. I wanna eat. OK, so I eat 400 calories. Should be a wash, right? But come Saturday morning's official weigh-in, I don't see the results I should see. Working out makes it harder. Of course I know this is BS, just anot

So this is me....

I'm a guy. I'm 55 years old, 6 feet 3 inches tall. I went back on the program two months ago when I weighed 273 lbs. Today I'm at 241. They put me on 1700 calories but I changed it to 1500 on my own because I am NOT a patient person. I've never seen another male in the Jenny Craig office I go to. I may be the only one. So I hide. I weigh-in on Saturday mornings at 7:45 a.m. because no one else is there. I bring in a food order every Monday morning when no one else is there. I get in and get out
