The forums, full of infinite knowledge and wisdom, taught me how to make delicious carrot fries! It's a tasty, FREE food that can fill you up when you are looking for a naughty snack. They are similar to sweet potato fries, without all the starch. Here's how I make mine!
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
I start by taking fresh baby carrots and cutting them into fourths.
I use about 1-2 cups, depending on how hungry I am!
(Some folks prefer regular sized carrots, but I think they're harder to s
Hi All, I have been on Jenny now since mid November. As a diabetic, weight loss has been somewhat slower for me, but down 14 pounds since I joined. Very excited about the weight loss so far. I have been having some issues with low sugar's after exercise and on 1200 calorie JC plan. Was wondering if anyone else out there is a diabetic that I could connect with to discuss the program? Almost at my half way mark and don't want to loose the momentum that I have going. Looking for some support out
okay, so I have lost (in total) 6.3 pounds in 17 days! But last night, Friday, Feb. 10th, I went to the mall with my boyfriend and was starving. (It was about 630, which is when I would usually eat my JC dinner at home) So, we went to Panda Express and I got fried rice (ahh!) and orange chicken. Then later that night I had chocolate/peanut butter ice cream with 2 marshmallow peeps... and 2 small bags of cheetos.. ahhh now that I'm kinda recording what I ate I feel TERRIBLE! I wish i hadn't eate
I started eating Jenny on 2/8/12, three days ago. So far I've lost three pounds. I feel like this diet is a great fit for my life overall but I'm a little worried when I go camping and backpacking later this year. I'm also very disappointed (very, very disappointed) that the program isn't made to work with the ipad and iphone. That is what I use in my everyday life and I can't incorporate any of the tools, videos or armband smoothly into my life. I hope this is an area they fix. It is the
Quesadillas are one of my FAVORITE cheesy foods. But there were none in sight when I started Jenny. Fortunately, I discovered a genius recipe on the blog "No Thanks To Cake" which uses Jenny's Chicken Fajitas and transforms them into some delicious quesadillas!
I'm no grand master chef (in fact, I sort of avoid cooking), but with a little patience and effort I can whip these up in no time. It's my new favorite dinner, so it's definitely worth it! Here's what I do:
Spray Pam into skillet &
I recently made a delicious and FILLING stuffed pepper recipe using Jenny's "Southwestern Chicken with Rice" dish!
It's funny that I loved this so much, because the very first time I ate the Southwestern Chicken I about gagged. I hated it!!!! I hadn't ordered it in 5 months, but after seeing other Jenny forum users post about this recipe, I knew I had to give it a shot. Here's what I did with mine:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Slice in half 1 bell pepper. Remove seeds.
Fill each half with S
Tonight I sit at my computer wondering how it will be tomorrow; will my first day of Jenny be difficult, easy, or just another day? With almost eighty-five pounds to lose, I have decided to throw every ounce of energy into becoming the me I know I can be. Will I miss my Starbucks? Most definitely. Will I miss the pounds that I will lose for not drinking my almost daily Venti White Chocolate Mocha? Heck no! Tomorrow I will eat my first Jenny food and will put on my new Metabolic Max armband... le
It's been a while... a little over two months since I started my journey and so far so good!
Had some snags over the holidays (no gains thankfully!), but now it seems to be on a steady decrease!
I got back to using Insanity daily (yikes!!) and I'm actually starting to look forward to it everyday! I guess that's what happens when you make a new habit!
I'm ssssooooo happy with my progress! It's been fun! I was able to buy a cute bikini the other day for a trip we're taking the end of the month
I came back from a run this morning HUNGRY!! And to be quite honest when I saw the menu which had the blueberry mini loaf, I was disappointed. Then I read some posts on volumizing the breakfast and had a lightbulb moment!
I cut up my mini loaf, and traded in my milk and cottage cheeses for two 3oz yogurts. I layered my mini loaf with mixed berries and the yogurts. It was so pretty I took a picture for you. I also toasted my muffin before I layered it!
Now I can hardly wait for another muffin d
did well on JC 30+ years ago......am thinking of rejoining, but this time I am a diabetic.....have about 60 pounds to lose......Are there meals that take diabetes into account? Tried another diet a few years ago and just couldn't swallow the food....as I remember the JC food was pretty good even way back then??? Any comments would be appreciated......
Wow it has taken me forever...but I am getting older and need to take care of my health!! So, I started my program on 2/06/2012 and I am excited, motivated, and scared. I hope that I can do this and be proud of what I accomplish
I knew I had been losing some weight, but what made me feel pretty good this week was having to buy new pants a size smaller. One of my main goals is to be able to shop in a regular store and not in the plus size department. One size down is one step closer to this goal. My new challenge...finding a way to get exercise in to my life. I just can't seem to find the time or the energy. I know I need to but between working 50-60 hours a week and taking care of my 2 year old (which mostly boils
Hello All, I am on week #6 and feeling really good about my 13+ lbs down. Last night I fell Waaaaay off the wagon and had a Carb attack. My husband had made a pasta dinner that mage my fettucini look so sad in comparison. I am a "carbavore" by nature and I attacked his left overs and then some (straight out of the pot!). From there it went down hill incredibly fast (I talking ice cream, chocolate, you name it) Needless to say, I awake today feeling really bad. I felt like all my hard work was fo
So this is the beginning of my 5th week. Actually, it's Wednesday so I guess it's the middle. I've been so busy lately that time is starting to blend. I had planned to have more blog entries by now, but I'm too busy. So far I've lost about 11 lbs. To be honest, I don't really know how I feel about that. It's progress, that's for sure. I'm not ungrateful for the loss, but I can't help focusing on the large amount I still have to lose.
I've been struggling lately. I didn't lose anything last wee
i am visually seeing myself at the end of this journey, losing the weight. How I will look, how I will feel. I'm almost at my half way point. And I can feel it. I am also scared to gain the weight back and to be "out of control" eating the things that got me here in the 1st place. I hate that it's maintenance for the rest of our lives. I wish you all luck, and keeping fingers crossed to finish this journey.
During the first couple of weeks I was munching on carrots and peas. How creative Two weeks of that and I was ready for a change. Enter the creative salad phase Week three, back to the blended soup But now I am in this hot veggie phase and loving it!! I don't know why but the warm veggies seem to make my belly happy, and I feel.....fuller. Maybe I need to wait to summer to have all the salads but I am surviving on lettuce tacos, portobello pizza's, eggplant parmensan and it's keeping me going
I went to my usual weekly appointment and when I got there I was approached by the manager and another counsler they told me my regular counsler had left Jenny. Wow it was such a shock. I felt kinda disappointed that she didn't tell me and at least let me say goodbye and introduce me to someone who would take her place. Well I did get another counsler. And she was very kind but now I have to build a new relationship. I know sometimes we have no choice in what happens but it is just another
Hello, Jenny! I started 2012 with lots of goals, but at the top of the list was to lose 60 lbs. Obviously, facing a challenge like that seems too difficult to even approach, so my goal is being broken down into 10 lbs. increments. I started Jenny on January 10 and have had 3 follow-up weigh-ins since the initial one. I'm happy to say that I am down 7.6 lbs. and I'm approaching my first mini-goal (10 lbs.). Funny, I've been thinking about what I would say in this blog (it's like a friend to
Yesterday was my WI i dropped 2 pounds and it made me feel good!! This time my WI appt was in the morning instead of the evening I think that makes a difference since we are usually lighter in the morning anyhow i lost 2 instead of 1 but i am starting to get burned out on even my favorite JC meals what can i do ??? Breakfast & lunch is ok but dinner time i just dont care for the dinners anymore. Also how do you guys do that ticker thing??
Life interfered this week and I did not respond well. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights were late nights for me to catch up on some work at home. One night I stayed up even longer to watch a show on NetFlix. So no surprise that I did not get up and exercise on the following mornings, in fact, had to drag myself out of bed just to go to work. My calorie burn as measured by the BodyMedia armband, was lower and number of steps not close to 15K. And I drank too much coffee and snacked late a
Don't you hate how jean sizes vary wildly from one brand to the next? And even within the same brand sometimes. I have a lot of Old Navy jeans. And I mean a lot. Something that frustrated me last November was that I bought 2 pairs of jeans in the same size from ON. Both 14 Tall. One was a pair of dark wash skinny jeans. The other was regular blue jeans blue and boot cut. The skinny jeans fit and the boot cuts are too small! I can get them up over my hips, but even lying back on my bed and suckin
