Does all the Sodium in the JC Food Affect Your Weight Loss?

5 posts in this topic

Hi everyone. I'm restarting JC tomorrow and I'm so excited. I'm just curious, but has the extra sodium from eating the processed foods caused any problems with water retention or with losing weight? I remember in the past, I felt I lost more than showed up on the scale and I'm sure it was from the sodium retention. I know each meal isn't that much, but it adds up a lot. What are your experiences? Thanks!

I drink water non stop and the only time I notice any water retention is if I drink too much diet soda or following new exercise and muscles are sore (usually both coincide with not drinking enough water) ... moral of the story HYDRATE HYDRATE HYDRATE :) Welcome back

I agree, I have noticed that I need to drink a LOT of water while on Jenny Craig, or else I feel dehydrated.

I also drink a lot of water to flush the fluid and daily detox tea that flushes toxins out. I also arrange my meals when I get home and eat those with the higher sodium content first so that as I am closer to weigh in the less my sodium intake is. It sounds crazy but its worked in the past.

Compared to other packaged foods Jenny foods really don't have that much sodium. It's one of the many things that the JC dieticians balance in their meal design. Following the program, and not using the salt shaker much most days, I'm usually hitting 1600-1700 mg of sodium a day. The FDA recommends keeping it below 2300 mg, and most Americans do worse. I've actually been feeling pretty good about my sodium intake with Jenny.
