I'm so glad to read that my postings are helpful! I appreciate that..it helps me to stay on track and to really pay attention to what I'm doing to make this work so I can share it with you all.
It dawned on me that for the most part I have transitioned to being a THIN person....the compliments have stopped coming my way ( except from my oldest daughter, bless her heart, who will still say. " mom, you look so skinny in those pants!) People I see everyday or regularly have gotten used to the new me...I must admit I do miss those compliments!
So I realize it's so important for ME to remember what I used to look like and feel like 68 lbs heavier....to daily remind myself what a blessing it is to be at goal and to now be reaping the benefits of all those months of losing weight.
It's funny that some family members have asked if I'm always going to be eating " this way". I guess they mean making healthy choices and being picky about what I choose to eat. I answer " Yes!" I realize they have seen me overweight most of my life and wonder if this is just temporary so it'll be an adjustment for them to get used to my new way of eating...of living.
I can see the pride in my husband's eyes when he sees me still eating healthy..it means so much to me! He has always been so accepting of me whether I'm fat or those very few times in our 39 years together when I've been thin...he always has said he loves me for me. I want to be the best I can be not only for myself but for him.
I wish I could go back to when I was 22 years old and tell myself all I know now! Lose the weight while you're young and can enjoy all life has to offer! When you can wear all the trendy clothes! Don't waste years limiting yourself! 6 months, 9 months, 1 year of working hard to lose weight is not a long time when you put it in to perspective....do it now when you are young and healthy!
But I also know now it is never too late! I am the happiest I have been in a very long time...counting my blessings every day!

Your posts make me smile, Laura.  I am so happy that you are happy.  And it sounds like you have a big cheerleader in your husband.  Mine is the same way and I love that.

My sister is not fortunate in that way with her husband, and I think it makes a big difference in your weight loss journey when you don't have your spouse's support.  She is struggling with Jenny as she's done in the past.  I want to sometimes smack my BIL in the head and tell him, "Would it kill you to give her a compliment once in a while."  Seriously, she's lost 50 pounds in the last year and a half.  She still has about another 40 or so to go, but her husband tells her he doesn't really see any difference when she asks him how she looks.  Unbelievable!

Anyway, I'm glad you have that support and are having a blast enjoying all your smaller clothes.  Thanks for all the updates, too.  So inspiring.

We are so blessed to have great supportive husbands...It's sad that your sister has to deal with that! Good for her to not let it discourage her from keeping on plan!
Holding steady at 140 lbs....
I went shopping today and stopped by Nordstrom to buy a new bra. The salesperson convinced me to get fitted again even though I did last summer. Good thing I did..I dropped a bra size! I love the way Wacoal bras fit..bought 3 new ones!
I also stopped at my favorite store, JJill ( I worked there for 4-5 years part time and had a 40% discount--- boy, did I take advantage of that! I wore size 8 pants and tops in medium during that time so that's what's filling up my closet now! Most still fit.. Thank God for that!) Well, bought new black jeans in size 6 and a gray vnecked pullover sweater in Small!! They both fit well
( smile) and I figure that will give me added incentive to not gain weight now that the holidays are just around the corner.....it sure is fun shopping now but a girl can just wear so many clothes!
Tomorrow should be fun..taking my mother in law to breakfast then to a Casino to celebrate her 92nd birthday. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful woman for a mother in law. She is the best! She's slowing down quite a bit so this might be one of the last times she'll be able to go and enjoy it...the years pass by so fast, don't they?

Thanks Sheila! I do hope everything turns out well for you..
Heading out to the JC Centre tomorrow just to buy some of the new foods...I need to add some variety to my day! Looking forward to trying the new pizzas and the quesadilla. And buying more of the pumpkin cranberry mini loaf ...so good!
I've been dealing with the munchies that hit around 9 or 10 pm... Several nights in a row...I gave in last night and ate way too many salty pretzels...I am up a couple of lbs today, has to be the salt!!! I hate seeing a higher weight on the scale..and I knew when I bought the pretzels that I would have a hard time with portion control..but I bought them anyway! Now I know I just can't have them in my house...I can't stop eating them once I start! Very few foods do that to me...tootsie rolls are one and so are Rice Krispie treats...I know better than to try to eat just one...I can't .
So, heading to bed...that's one way to avoid the cravings...all ends well ..a successful day on maintenance.

Laura don't feel bad...I never eat late at night but for some reason I did last night: I was in bed mind you and got up and got the popcorn and brought it to bed (OMG) and munched down on it!  I must have eaten too much cause I couldn't even eat breakfast this morning cause I felt too full so I drank a slim-fast instead (MOMO) I know better then to try and eat late it's my fault, I was wrong I'll own it!  I feel so mad today though...I feel really angry at myself for it which isn't good either.  I slipped so move on already!!! Geez

Stopped by the Centre Monday and bought s few new foods. I had the Margherita pizza for lunch with a small salad-- pretty good! The pizza is only 220 calories and what I like about it is that it gets us JCers to realize that we Can have only one slice of pizza and be satisfied! Add a salad and it's perfect. In the past I would have eaten 3 large slices...and a salad? Never!
I rarely eat the Anytime Bars anymore...I found I love Quest Protein bars .. Buy them by the box at GNC. Something like 22 grams of protein and 19 grams of fiber in a 190 calorie bar. My favorite is the chocolate chip cookie dough flavor...higher in calories than an anytime bar but worth it and don't have them every day..and they are good!
I also have returned to my habit of carrying around a bag of baby carrots, celery sticks and grape tomatoes ..doing errands, to baseball games, to work, etc. It helps me from snacking on the wrong stuff or eating too much at meals. It's been a major help! My daughter started doing this also to make sure she gets enough veggies in daily --- she's thin and eats everything!
Another one of my favorite things is an A & W Diet Rootbeer with a small scoop of Lite Cool Whip....a nice treat for under 50 calories!
Still loving my coffee....fills me up when I need a little something..
Lots of good food, snacks, drinks..not missing a thing!

Had a great lunch today...my version of a fast food meal for only for 280 calories:
2 chili dogs ( 2 45 calorie slices of bread , 2 97% fat free Hebrew National hot dogs, 1/4 c Dennisons 97% fat free Turkey Chili and beans, 1 Tb low fat shredded cheese, deli mustard
Carrot fries, Waldens 0 calorie catsup
Root beer float (Diet A&W Root Beer, 1 small scoop of Frozen Lite Cool Whip

I hadn't roasted veggies in such a long time because it's been so hot and just didn't have the appetite for them...with the cooler weather now I decided to roast a couple of pans this afternoon and looking forward to having them this week...so good!

Found substitutes for the JC cinnamon rolls and the JC French Toast. Lots cheaper and I actually like them better. I love the JC French toast but now that the berries are no longer included I can't see paying over $5.00 for a few slices.
I will continue buying the pizzas, turkey burgers, quesadilla and pumpkin mini loaf at the JC centre. I'm surprised how many good foods are available now in stores...I found a great burrito at Target, Pirates Booty, Vitatops, Egg Whites, Pillsbury mini pancakes, etc.
Life is getting back to normal now...my stepfather is now healthy enough to take over my mom's care so we no longer have to be over from morning til night...of course we will continue to help out a day or two a week.I missed having my food available...it took planning to make sure I took the right foods over. I also missed the structure of eating my meals at my usual times. So glad I can get back to "normal".
Saturday my daughters, daughter in law and I are going out Wedding Dress shopping for my youngest daughter! Then the following day we're going shopping for maternity outfits for my daughter in law...fun weekend! I'm also going to a baseball play off game on Friday...go Angels!!!
God is good!

I am completing 2 months on maintenance ( I weigh in on Friday.) Boy, time flys by! So far it's been pretty easy and I've been staying under goal...up a little some days, down others. I've found good substitutes for some JC.food and have only a few JC favorites to buy monthly.
The best thing about maintaining? Going to my closet and knowing whatever I choose to wear will fit! I can't tell you how many years I was so limited to only a few choices and they'd either be "tight "or " too tight". This above all keeps me from gaining.

I was..am..a Lifetime Weight Watchers member. I reached goal weight but maintained for just a couple of months ( or less) then gained everything back plus more.
I remember hearing from other members that as soon as the meeting was over they would "cheat" for the rest of the day then go back on program the next day. Same thing every week....it was like trying to beat the system instead of making healthy lifestyle changes.i myself wouldn't do this but sometimes would use my points for high calorie foods and then find I was starving midday and had a few points left for the rest of the day. How I made it to goal I really don't know!
Once I made goal on Weight Watchers I never understood that in order to keep the weight off for good that I could Not go back to eating a hamburger and fries for lunch and a candy bar or two for snack, cookies or ice cream later at night....several times a week! That's exactly what I did!
It's so different this time at goal..I know I know what to do and what to eat to continue staying at goal. It all comes down to choices I make each day...as long as I make good choices most of the time I will be alright!
It's so comforting to know I don't have to fear gaining all my weight back...I am always amazed when I get on the scale and I'm still under goal! What a great feeling!

Laura — I can't believe it has been 2 months! It seems like just last week you were in Vegas! Congrats on your 2 month mark and what an awesome accomplishment to not have fear directing you with your food choices. You truly continue to inspire me and I look forward to when I can join maintenance too.
