I lost 13 pounds my first month. But this past week I have totally blew it. I know I have gained some weight back. I don't want to give up though. I'm sure other's have been where I'm at?

Yes, we've all been there!  The good news is that with JC, we don't have to feel guilty and we can get right back on plan.  13 pounds in your first month is amazing!  Please don't give up.  The great thing is that you didn't let a week turn into a month, so be kind to yourself and know that you can do this! :)

Shayla, the good news is you haven't done much in the way of damage in just a few days.  Get back on plan ASAP and if you did put any weight on (most likely more water weight than fat), it should be off within a few days.  Don't weigh yourself because that might just upset you to see the numbers.  Just get back on the program and you'll start to feel better real soon.  Like Kristen said; most of us have been there.

The biggest mistake you could make is to stop.  I know that when I have done this in the past- you can either give up  or be strong!  Please get back on the program today and you will feel back in control.

Keep us posted!!

Just as the ladies have said get right back on that horse and if you really look at the week, i bet it is not as bad as you think.  You can get back on track and do well as you have your first month - i felt that time was the hardest for me and then it continued to get easier.

recognize the things that you did not do well - binging - eating out - snacking - and then acknowledge those for the future, it is all a learning after all

we are with you!

I know what you mean!  I craved salt all last week.  It was terrible.  Today is a new day and we are only human.  We got this!

Ok, I'm going to lay it all out there, I had 9 rice krispe treats at easter.  Yes, NINE.  Some were small but some were regular size.  That's what we call binging.  Ugh.  But I still lost 3 lbs this week.  Get on the horse and get back with it.  Increase your activity if you can to help burn those excess calories off.  You didn't do as bad as you'd think.  I've been on this for 51 weeks and can tell you that there will be weeks of gains, loses, binging, cravings, everything.  It isn't going to be perfect.  Just keep getting back on plan and you'll get motivated again and will see the results you want.  Promise.  :)  At least you recognized it and are taking steps to correct the situation.  Good for you!

I did the melting pot for Easter and had a caramel ice cream Sunday, it was fantastic, but I let it be what it was and moved on I knew it was a special event and that is that!! I got up on the scale to face the demon and guess what the demon huddled in the corner and I still lost a pound......

Thanks Everyone! Great advice and encouragement. I go weigh in the morning and I will keep y'all posted. I'm doing good today and I got a lot of activity in :)! And what I know I need to do is go weigh every week to keep me more accountable. I live almost an hour away from the center so I was going to try going every two weeks and I see as of right now I need to go every Saturday to weigh in.

Shayla

Like others have mentioned this is a learning experience.  This is a time though to look at ourselves and try to figure out what brought us here?  It's a great time to: as we hit those peaks and valley's to access what's going on with us?  Was there something going on during the week that you think might have made you drift back to old habits?  It happens to us all.  The key that I've found to the people being a success in the long term is they don't usually have a binge week and after it's been a bad day they're right back on track the next day.  I am one of those "types" that eats when happy and sad and have many years of bad habits that haven't been easy to break.  It's a constant battle for me and yet I see other's where it seems...not so much that way for them?  However only we know our true strengths and weaknesses.  Only we can get down and dirty "true" about it ALL with ourselves!  I know you can do it just pull the strength out cause it's down there even if it's a little hard to find sometimes!

Also Shayla

Try not to use words like blown it!  Or like: I've totally wrecked my diet!  Use words like: I got side tracked instead or even went a little off track.  Having us use such damaging words can also make us feel worse about the slip up and make it harder to get back on track cause we've made ourselves feel so bad about it!

So you hit a bump on the JC speedway but now your race car is handling the curves real smooth like!

Oh well, it is over.

One meal at a time one day at a time.

Don't over think this. It is OK

Don't be mad at yourself.

We say the worst things to ourselves so forgive yourself

I have forgiven myself ;)! And also that is so true about what you think and say. I have learned some stuff this week about my Journey. I maintained my weight loss when I weighed in today so that is a good thing. I'm back on track. I was even at a party today and just ate some fruit. Again thanks to everyone for your encouragement and compassion.
