JC needs new food & now Kirstie Alley???

JC needs to change their menu...I've been on this program for several years and the food has lost its appeal...they've discontinued so many foods but didn't really replace them all, just added a couple of new items that are quite bad (I think)...and now Kirstie Alley makes a comeback...really?  I didn't care for her the first-time around and I don't think she's a very good role model for healthy eating & losing weight.  Just venting...thanks for listening!

I haven't been on Jenny long enough to get bored of the food yet so I am not a good one to comment on that.
In regards to the Kirsty Alley thing, I think it shows that Jenny is accepting to everyone and forgiving of those that leave.
This is my fourth time on Jenny and every time I would be on for a while, get comfortable with the program, start getting too confident and start to think I can do this on my own, I'd quit and find something I didn't like about the program so I could bad mouth it. It was a very sad way for me to make the justification to myself to quit. Every time I rejoin, I've gained back most or all of the weight I lost when I was following the program. Each time I called, tucked my tail between my legs, I was greeted with warmth and a smile.
Is Kirsty Alley not human? I personally say good for her for realizing she needs the help.
After all, isn't that what we are all here for?

I'm with you, genny! 

 

Any diet can get boring after a while for some people.  But if you look for ways to volumize and check out sites like http://www.nothankstocake.com/recipes/ that show you how to do this a prepare your Jenny foods in a different way for variety, then there is no need for boredom.  I did Jenny for about 8 months and loved it just as much when I got close enough to goal to stop buying their foods entirely and cook on my own as I did on the first day I joined.  But that's me, and I understand that not everyone feels that way.

 

And I'm not thrilled with JC adding Kristie's drinks to their program, but I have no problem with her coming back.  Like Genny said, how many times have many of us returned to a program?

I personally could care less if Kirstie is doing Jenny or not.  Her being the "spokesperson" will not affect my journey what so ever.  She has her journey and I have mine.  I won't be purchasing her products (JC bought part of her company) but if they help someone else then good for them.

I'm about 10 pounds from my goal weight - been on for almost a year and really wanting (and have been cheating) a change. I like your quote Sandy. Got any more? I've lost 45 pounds but my will power seems to be waning.

I am semi bored of the food, I am a real foodie, love the new and the unusual but I am also incredibly busy so the food I am bored with are the lunches and the breakfasts as those are the meals I don't typically have time to do anything with.  Dinner I can still be kind of creative but there is only so much you can do with pre cooked meatloaf.  I also like a variety of spice and I must admit that I miss several of my ethnic favs especially Indian.  However, I am not on this program for the spice of life I am on this program to learn how to not misuse the spice of life or not use It several times a day!

 

For the Kristi Alley thing I think it is great that she is back, we all come back from time to time even if its just to the boards, after all that is what support is all about being accepted.  That being said I don't think having a celebrity for a spokesperson is smart nor do I think it is motivating, in fact it makes me wonder about the authenticity of a program.

Have you thought about doing some MOMO Happy?  I stopped buying Jenny breakfasts and do my own with those.  And I eat 1, sometimes 2 of their lunches per week.  the other days I make my own chop salads or soup or a sandwich.  It helps with the monotony of it.  I also sometimes make a stir fry for lunch loaded with free veggies and a small serving of brown rice. Uber filling and low cal.  I use stir fry sauce and only a little soy sauce to try and keep the sodium down.  Love it.  Maybe give something like that a try?  Or sautee up the chicken in other seasonings to make it however you like.  It'll help you start some transition of learning how to do some MOMO.

I'm only starting my second week so haven't had a chance yet to get tired of the foods, but with 20+ lunch and dinner choices, I figure that's 3 weeks worth of food with no repeats, let alone the MOMO's that I'll have, so it's probably a month of food with no repeats.  If I stay on for 2-3 months (plan for now), I'll only be having 2-3 repeat meals.  So far, I've actually liked all the food, and I've just gone with what the JC plan recommended.

 

Re:  Kirstie Alley.  Not sure why so many people are up in arms over her?  I like seeing a former thin actress (check her out when she was in her 20's) who has gone through the same struggles we all have.  As private a person as I am (no one in my real life knows I'm doing JC), I applaud her for going so public with her struggle. 

 

Sure, she's getting paid, but I wouldn't do it even if JC offered to pay me.  It's just too private a thing for me, and for most women.  Kirstie doesn't need the money, but she obviously needs the help.

 

Her "circus fat" comment didn't help her, but I think she said it from a genuine place of trying to be funny.  We've all stuck our foot in our mouths before, hers just happened to be filmed.
