I want to move to desserts on my own, but it has to be REALLY good to compete with the JC triple chocolate cheesecake!

So today, I bought and tried the Smart Ones Key Lime Pie- I took my JC food label to the store so I could compare and it was actually a bigger serving size than the cheesecake (I always look for the most bang for my calorie buck!) and a little lower in calories. I tried it tonight, but I didn't like it! So that is off my list.

I also bought and tried the Skinny Cow cookies and cream ice cream sandwich. This is also comparable to the cheesecake in calories, etc. I thought it was OK, nothing special. At another store, they had peanut butter and chocolate ice cream sandwiches, so maybe I will try those next.

I would love to know if anyone has a favorite non JC dessert- I do love the cheesecake, but am looking to save a little money. However, it won't be worth it if I don't find something satisfying and end up overdoing. I buy just enough JC desserts for the week and this keeps me from eating more than 1, which is much easier to do when I buy a box of something!

I have apple slices with a big scoop of Walden Farms 0 calorie Caramel Dip every day for my fruit serving and also for my dessert at night 2-3 times a week. I really love it and having that extra fruit serving is a plus!
Pillsbury Toaster Pastries are really good and I love Vitalicious Vitatops ( Blueberry and Deep Chocolate are my favorites).
Atkins has Peanut butter cups and a peanut caramel bar ( like a Payday bar) that are delicious.

I think the Skinny Cow Cookies and Cream and the Peanut Butter and Chocolate are way better than the plain old vanilla ones. And, just like with my JC cheesecake and brownie, I will put a couple tablespoons of FF Cool Whip on it (laid on it's side on a plate) and it becomes an instant decadent desserts to me.

I'd love to hear more suggestions, too, since I look forward to my dessert each night and will be looking for other alternatives to the cheesecake and brownie once I reach my goal and am no longer buying JC foods.

Have yall tried the Skinny Cow snicker doodle ice cream sandwiches? I bought them because they were recommended (by Carmen I think) and my DH & son ate them before I could get one! LOL.....they said they are amazing!

Kyra, I saw the Snickerdoodles ice cream sandwiches- will have to try those!

Sandy, love the cool whip idea, but I have no portion control where that is concerned and will eat the whole thing, so can't keep it in the house! (this may or may not have happened yesterday! :)

Laura, I do like the Vitatops, but they just can't compare to the JC cheesecake. I guess if I put cool whip on them, but we all know where that will end up!! I'll check out the Toaster Pastries- never thought of those!

I saw that Weight Watchers has some desserts, but again I'm looking at serving size and they seem pretty small.

The search continues...

Desserts aren't my weakness (give me salty carbs) so if I have one I will have a REAL dessert and stick with the serving size suggested on the package. Typically I like to go to Oikos greek yogurt for a sweet sensation. I LOVE the key lime flavor. Also I will sometimes slice up apple with some sweetener and cinnamon wrap in foil and bake though...feels like apple pie without the guilt.

I like Brookside's Acai dark chocolate snacks and also the pomegranate dark chocolate snacks. I get them in 100 calorie packets and they are totally delicious so I just have 1 a night and skip the J/C dessert.

Those sound great, but this is the first I've heard of them.

Kyra, you said you get them at BJ's. Do you think they'd sell them at Costco. Guess I could have my sister check for me since she works there.

ETA: Just did a google search and found a picture of them...

So, are they sold in the frozen food or the candy isle?

Sandy, I would think Costco would have them. I get them in the Candy aisle. I have seen them at Target too and I think our grocery store. :)

Thanks, Kyra. I'll keep a lookout for them when I shop at Ralph's this weekend.
