I started back with Jenny Craig on January 7th, 2014. I think it would be helpful to have a local support group and perhaps an activity partner(s). My weight is going in the right direction, I've started Bikram yoga and began lifting light weights. Overall I have a pretty positive outlook on life today. Hope to hear from some people who are on the same path.

When you look in the mirror and see no change, and still keep faith, knowing that in time you will get there if you stay focused and on track, that's the difference between those who succeed and those who fail.

Cool! It's fun getting a response so quickly and I'd be happy to be your online buddy. About the hot (Bikram) yoga, I almost passed out the first time I went last week. Man, it's 105 degrees in there! But I'm sticking with it even though I can't do a lot of he poses. It'll get better with time, I suppose. You look great, by the way. Really couldn't tell it's the same person; quite a dramatic transformation. Just started with the dumbbells today, real light weight. Let's keep rollin' this new year and make it happen. Aloha

Thanks! it didn't take long at all to lose the weight, 9 months or so. it happens fast when you let the program do its thing. The hardest part is keeping it off. Weight lifting and running is helping me stay active and encouraging me to continue eating right. Good for you starting weight lifting! it all starts with just picking something up, it doesnt' matter if its light or not. Each day go a little heavier than the day before . Its fun, i like it. and with weights you'll get a solid shapely body thats the best part.

Can't do running- on November 20th, 2013, I had a hip replacement. That's why I'm doing the yoga. Soon I'll be going back to spinning class which I really dig. How is maintenance going? That's where I fell a couple years ago. As soon as I got off Jenny Craig, I went mad into food again.

maint is ok as long as i eat what i'm supposed to eat and not eat like i used to. The hardest part is staying away from alcohol, thats my weakness. Thats good if you can get into spinning, cardio really helps with the weight loss and getting healthy. Can you walk easily ? i walked tons when i was losing weight, i still walk a lot. I tried to get at least 10,000 steps every day, i had the armband to count steps. I hope your hip heals up as good as new.

The hip is healed; I had a fantastic surgeon who did the work. Walking is not a problem since I had he surgery. I don't drink anymore so that won't be a problem. It's cake and ice cream that did me in last time. I've got a terrible sweet tooth.

Hi you two!
I am in Marin and starting on April 9,working on losing 20 lbs. The problem for me is also portions and sweets. My birthday cruise to Alaska is in early June...not sure how I will keep weight off during that eating fest! But maybe by then, I'll have figured that out. I enjoy your posts and wish you success every day, one day at a time. I walk 10,000 step s most days and am starting a gym workout. The best to both of you!

Still struggling with the sweets; I find myself dipping into my girlfriend's chocolate caramel Weight Watcher's treats and eating a couple extra fruit during the day. I've stopped losing weight but I'm going for a weigh in today. Hopefully, I've turned this around. My weight currently is 219 lbs. and my goal weight is 200.
