Hi, I just started JC yesterday and today was my first full day on the food. Everything I ate was delicious and I enjoyed it very much. I have about 40 pounds to lose, about how long can I expect it to take?

Everyone is different and loses at different rates. Even the same person will lose differently at different stages of their lives depending on age, hormones and activity levels. I'm 50 years old and on average lose 1.4 pounds per week on Jenny. Just 14 years ago when I first did it, I was losing an average of 2 pounds a week and not exercising as much as I am now.

What did you consultant say about this?

Welcome! Everyone's journey is different, as Sandy mentioned. Walk alot at first, if you are not very active, you didn't mention activity?? All plays into it.

Follow the plan, eat all your veggies, especially fill up on non-starchy "free" veggies, they will help keep you full and it is great to try new veggies. Roast them, spice them up with non-salty herbs, spices. I bake them alot in a toaster oven.

Remember, you will lose a healthy weight with JC, it's not a race. It is a lifestyle change, journey. For the rest of our lives.
Work the program and it will work for you! Good luck and welcome to the boards also!!

Started 12/28/2012 214 lbs.

Re-Starting using MOMO 1/2/13 I am still 37 lbs. ahead, however, my lowest this past Summer was 158, so I am up 19 lbs. from that. I can't keep looking at my old stats, it has to be new. I will be 58 in February. I weighed 196 last year at that time...can't go there!

1/1/13 Wed. 177 lbs.
1/8/13 Wed. 175.6 lbs.

I wouldn't suggest you think about how long your journey will take, you might just get overwhelmed. That's what happened to me. I would slow down losing and end up thinking "what's the point?!" and end up worse off. Right now I have 34.4lbs left until goal, and I'm fully committed to the program for a full year (from July 13). I've already built it into my monthly budget. If I'm done before that year, than great! And if not, I'll reassess my plan when the time comes closer. But for now, I'm just using this time to really learn and fix my eating and exercises, and the weight will follow. Best of luck!

For me, i had to know info like how long would it take , and i estimated dates i'd hit certain weights. I needed that to make it work for me. Average is 1-2 lbs a week, so if you move a long at an average rate it could take you 20 to 40 weeks ( 5-10 months) but your average could be as low as .5 pounds a week, so that could be as long as 20 months (close to 2 years). There are a lot of factors like those sandooch mentioned above that affect your rate of loss. But dont let the amount of time defer you from achieiving the goal you want, time will pass anyways, with or without you losing weight. its worth making the effort.

When you look in the mirror and see no change, and still keep faith, knowing that in time you will get there if you stay focused and on track, that's the difference between those who succeed and those who fail.

5'4", 46 years old, start date 7/18/2012 236.4 lbs, i work out a lot.

So, I am upset with myself. Went in for my second week weigh-in fully expecting to register a loss on the scale. I was so good during the week, I didn't cheat, I went walking, I drank my water, I did everything I was supposed to do and guess what??? No loss!!!!!!!! I didn't gain, but I didn't lose either!!!!!!!!!!! My consultant told me not to worry, but I can't help it. I AM SO UPSET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't be upset with yourself...looks like you did everything you are supposed to! Could be lots of things..water retention, dressing in heavier weigh in clothes...you had a great loss the first week, I'm sure you'll show a loss next week! Just stick to program and you'll be fine!

Secretary, hang in there and just continue to follow the program. I have not seen this program fail yet for anyone who has followed it. You should like back over you first month and see an appropriate weight loss.

There you go :) now don't be upset if you see a smaller number next week. It is the over all picture and steady decline over time that wins this race. There is someone on the boards (I forget who it was) that posted good numbers every other week, but the average was still amazing. I believe they call it a weight loss journey for a reason :)

That was what I was gonna say to you...don't let the scale be what you measure your success by, your losing inches and that means smaller sized clothes. I'd rather have smaller clothes anyday, cause that's what shows not the numbers on the scale...unless your wearing it around your neck?
