Good morning all! I started a new thread because the old one was getting to be pages long. I am excited for the weekend. You all know that this is when I really push myself because I have more time to work out. I will be working a bit today but I put aside two hours just for me.

Goals for today:
1. Walk/run three miles
2. Bike 10 miles
3. 2 30 second planks
4. 2 sets of 15 push-ups.
5. 2 sets of 20 squats on the Bosu Ball
6. 2 sets of 20 crunches

As you can see, I am trying to push my workouts by doing double sets. I have not lost weight this week so I need to start building muscle tissue. I am going to do my measurements today too to see inches lost so I don't get discouraged. I really need to start seeing that scale go down!

Challenge-do a double set of something and report back.

60 minutes on treadmill, upping the incline and speed and that's after my daughter had to convince me to get on if even for just a few minutes! I didn't think I had it in me to exercise today..goes to show...

Today has already been a great day and a frustrating day and it is only 9am. First, the frustrating part. Today is my weigh in day and I am up .5 pound. I have worked out so hard this week, really pushing my cardio to try and get my fat to burn away and all I have done is gained weight. I am trying very hard not to let that get me down and to focus on other successes for the week. For instance...in three weeks, I have lost 4 inches off the measurements that Jenny Craig uses. I have increased my bike miles from 10 miles in 75 minutes to 16 miles in 90 minutes. I have increased the number of push-ups I can do. I am going to go back to logging my food every day and see where I am causing problems for myself. I am going to eat on plan and really focus on getting my veggies in every day.

OK...Today's success. I rode the stationary bike at the gym for 90 straight minutes at levels 4-9 in intervals. I hit 16 miles which is my furthest distance. I hit 90 minutes which is my longest time. I burned the most calories.

Goals for today:
1. 15 miles on the bike - rode 16
2. 20,000 steps - at $13,749 so far
3. arm work out as soon as I get off the computer
4. 2 sets of 10 push ups
5. 2 sets of 30 second planks
6. 2 sets of 20 squats

Challenge for everyone - get here and post!! We need everyone's contribution to keep this thread going.

Laura - way to go on the treadmill. Isn't it amazing that on days when you just don't think you can get anything done, if you get started you are amazed with how much you can actually do!! :D

Have a great Sunday!! Juliana

Juliana..you are amazing with the amount of exercise you do... toning and building muscle! I'd suggest really looking at your eating, making sure you are getting all your food eaten, not eating or drinking anything off plan ( alcohol!) and yes, getting your veggies in. Eating right is the foundation of JC ....

You may even need to eat a little more lean protein. Depending on what calorie level you are on. If you're doing all that exercise on 1200 calories, your body may be running into starvation mode and holding your weight. Ask your JCC about this.

I am on 1500 calories so I think I am getting enough to not put me in starvation mode.

I did not want to get out of bed this morning so I only did an hour workout. I want to go back to the gym this afternoon to get another hour in since tomorrow is my rest day. I ended up getting all my goals met yesterday so that was great.

Goals for today:
Ride 20 miles - got 10 done
2 30 second planks
2 sets of 10 push ups
2 sets of 20 squats
15,000 steps

Challenge - pull out a goal outfit - this does not have to be a total goal outfit...just your next goal. I have an outfit on the back of my door that is going to fit great when I lost my first 10 pounds. I should have looked at it this morning when I was procrastinating in bed!!

Hi, everybody! So last week was my second week doing 5 days of kickboxing. Saturday I did two, yes, two kickboxing classes an hour apart. My gym had a grand opening with a DJ for the classes and tons and people. I guess I just didn't want to leave and had a snack and did the second workout an hour later. I felt great! then waitressed at my sister's restaurant for 12 yours yesterday. Wowza. Yeah, I'm feeling it. Then was at kickboxing 6:30 this morning. I lost another 2.6 lbs last week.

They say 21 days makes a habit. I am starting my third week of working out 5 to 6 days a week. My body is loving it and I feel so energized. I know I can keep this up!

Have a great day, everyone!

Carmen! Great Job! The 21-day habit thing is on my mind today as well. I have had three weeks to eat on the plan and workout 6 days a week and I am feeling like that is something I will be able to continue with now. Today is my rest day and I am really missing my workout this morning. It helps me get my day started in the right way and gets my emotions under control.

Goals for today:

5,000 steps
2 30 second planks (I am really feeling it in my stomach)
2 sets of 20 squats
2 sets of 15 pushups. I am still doing these against a table. I want to get to real Girl push-ups but so far can only do 2
5 minutes with the kettle ball (new item)

What will you do extra today?

Challenge - Find a new exercise that works a set of muscles you have not been working and add it to your day. Share so we can all learn something new. Mine is going to be using the kettle ball. I have read that doing a kettle ball workout for 20 minutes is equal to running. I don't know about that but I do know that when I swing it from my feet to above my head it is like doing crunches with weights. I am hoping it will help me firm up my core.

Sorry I forgot to check back in yesterday. I was running around doing errands, one big unplanned one, all day long and totally forgot to post here. I also wasn't able to get in my weight workout, so I'll have to do that today.

The past 2 days have been perfect early-morning walking weather (a.k.a. no sun). It feels so good to get that hour walk in each day. And the scale finally started to move again after being stuck for 9 days. Not as much as I would have liked, but it's going in the right direction.

Juliana, I have an outfit that I want to fit in for my nephew's birthday party a month from now. They are a cute pair of size 10 jeans that my mom bought me a couple of years ago. I love my mom, she always thinks I'm 2-3 sizes smaller than I really am. I tried these jeans on last weekend and they are about 7-8 pounds away from me fitting comfortably in them. I also have a size 8 skirt that I recently bought for the sole reason to fit into when I'm ready to apply back to work for Jenny Craig. I love looking at that skirt!

Just got back from a 3 and a half mile walk with my daughter! It felt awesome. The past two weeks feel like they have been insane with tons of errands to do after work and now that it's getting darker earlier, I'm losing precious workout time. Trying my best to get something in 30 means minimum each day.

Really proud of you for sticking to your walking while pregnant. I wish I did way back when I got pregnant 22 and 19 years ago. It probably would have made for a much easier delivery and faster recovery. You are ahead of the game, Jessica. How are you feeling with your first trimester?

Feeling good, haven't been physically sick but was very nauseous and tired for a few weeks there. Still fighting against myself to get back into the groove with my food. Trying to keep mini meals every few hours and I stocked my work with good, easy things to nosh on. Just didn't stock my house yet... whoops

I got my 75 minute workout in this morning. Rode 14 miles on the bike...not quite my fastest time but close. I will get all my strength training in during the day either at work or at home. I like doing my squats and pushups at work because then they are done.

Preparation is key for me as far as staying on the plan. I go to the store on Sunday. Come home and immediately cut up all my veggies and fruit and put them into containers to take to work during the week. I also try to roast a big batch of veggies so I don't get board with salad and raw stuff. Right now, what I prepare tends to take me until Thursday or so and then I sort of stumble on Friday. I have to get better about that. Still not losing any weight this week but I am going to continue to celebrate the successes I am having with my fitness and let the scale go for now. I feel stronger and leaner every day. My 5k is coming up soon. Tomorrow I will do a long walk/run to see how long I can go and if I am at 5k already then I can work on my time the rest of the two weeks.

Challenge: 100 calf raises. You don't have to do them all at once but try to get them in during the day.

Challenge accepted, Juliana! I used to have killer calves, but years of sporadic exercise and gaining weight turned them soft and mushy. I want my firm, toned calves back, so 100 calf raises it is.

Just got back from my 1-hour walk and will do my Firm workout this afternoon. Friday I'll be cleaning out a bank-owned home. I used to do that a couple years ago for extra money but stopped when the banks decided to go with a professional crew, but my realtor friend said they wanted to use me for this house, so not only is it some good money but I'll be burning a ton of calories because each house usually takes me 3-4 hours to clean (they are disgustingly dirty).

Jessica, glad to know you are feeling good and not nauseous any more.

Laura, I just realized that our Jenny Craig starting weights and current weights are about the same. I started there at 210 and this morning I was 181.2. Tomorrow is my offical weigh-in day, so I hope to lose at least another 0.4 to make it an even 2-pound loss.

Have a great day everyone!!

Sorry I didn't check in yesterday. It got very busy. I got my workout in the morning and went to a busy day of work. Today I am bed bound. I woke up with my joints screaming. Every so often I get a great deal of water retention in my joints. It had been getting worse each morning but today was unbearable. I now realize how much I count on my health. I have taken painkillers and diuretics and hope to be back to myself tomorrow. I do not get sick very often so this is frustrating for me. I am going to have to have a long workout tomorrow to counter this day spent in bed.

Does anyone else have a problem with the amount of sodium in Jenny food?

I wanted to start a challenge for the weekend. Even though I can't participate today, I think I will still start it. It will just make me work that much harder tomorrow. It is called 100's. you so as many sets of 100 of an exercise as you can over the weekend. Mix them up. Break them down but track them and report back with your numbers. The available exercises are: squats, lunges, step ups, crunches, bicycles, arm circles, bicep curls, push ups, triceps dips, shoulder presses, arm rows, bridges.

Lets get competitive and really push each other. I am determined to get out of bed and get at least 5 100's tonight.

Just wanted to check in and let you all know: I Lost 2.2 lbs this week, broke into the 70's and got into size 12's and size Lg blouses ( I started in size 16 and XL blouses) ...I am so jazzed! I cannot stress the importance of eating on program and not straying! I only walk for exercise but consistently lose 1-2 lbs weekly. So for all those out there who aren't very active: it's ok! In time we may start exploring new ways to exercise, but for now get some walking into your day and don't cheat on program!

Laura, Posted Image !!! I don't know whether to be envious, jealous or both. LOL Just kidding. What an awesome feeling to get out of the 180s, huh? I'm right behind you; hopefully I'll get there next week if not sooner.

Juliana, how I feel for you. I've been having pain on the front part of my hip, where the thigh bone connects to the hip bone. The pain comes and goes for months now. I thought I was actually on the mend because I hadn't had it in a while. But a few days ago I did an extra unintentional 40-minute walk on top of the hour walk I did in the morning when I walked down to pick up my car at the repair shop. I thought it was going to be closer than it was and wore the wrong shoes, so I believe that's what messed me up. I haven't been able to do my Firm dvd since which bums me out because I was starting to get firmer arms with that workout. Now I, too, have to take it easy. At least I have the weekend to totally recooperate, hopefully enough to get back to my whole routine.

Oh, and that house I cleaned today was a workout in itself. It took me and my daughter almost 4 hours to clean. Let me tell you, some people are so filthy. Whenever I clean these houses, I can't wait to come home and shower to get all the ick off of me. Hopefully all that cleaning burned some good calories.

Have a good weekend everyone! I don't normally post on the weekend because I'm spending time with family, but I will if i see a drop on the scale, especially if I hit the 170s like Laura did. :P
