So, when did the weigh in jitters go away for some of you who have done this for a while?

I am finding myself soooo completely nervous about tomorrow!

I don't want to obsess and I've been pretty good, but I guess it's just my down mood this week. I have been on point all week, have exercised all but one day, so I know I have done everything I am committed to doing, but still, I worry about that darn scale tomorrow!!! ARGHH~
I wonder when that will diminish and I'll just ease into the weigh in day just as I ease in to every other day because I know that scale will go down and up.....that's just reality.
I even had a few NSV's this week so I know that logically I shouldn't fret, but.......lol......we are only human, I guess! Hearing from all of you about this will certainly help!

I guess I never fretted that much about it because I told myself whatever my weight is at that moment, at that day/time is what it is. It either shows me I did a really good job the previous week or if it doesn't, then I'll have to make some adjustments for the next week. I've had two JCC's that kept reminding me to look at the big picture given I lose in ounces most weeks, and have a tendancy to regain what I lost. They would tell me to go back and look how much I lost over two weeks or even a month and what I did to make that happen. In some months, I could definitely see that I was losing in accordance with the JC recommended loses.

I joined Jenny to learn how to eat healthier. To me this is a lifetime struggle. I can't let 1 minute per week on a scale, ruin what could have been a very good week for me.

As BlessedforLife always says, "the scale lies". LOL

I hope in some way this helps you to stop fretting weigh-ins and use your weigh-in day as a day that you pat yourself on the back for all the healthy eating/exercise you did the previous week.

manthony72,
It's super hard not to worry abou that scale going in the right direction! I've been with Jenny for almost 10 weeks and I have had a loss for all of my weigh ins. A couple of times they were only a couple of ounces, but then the next two weeks after that I would lose 3 lbs. The weeks I didn't lose much were during my TOM (time of the month). I think I'm worrying a little less because after 2.5 months I have a feel for what the scale is going to do if I stick to the meal plans and get a lot of exercise! So, try not to worry, if the scale doesn't go down the way you think it should this week, it should next week! Last week I had a 2 ounce loss, so I'm hoping this week will be at least 2 lbs. It's hard not to worry. But if you stay on the plan the weight WILL come off!

Good Luck!

I agree. The scale is only ONE tool to measure your success on JC. And it's not even a reliable tool because it's going to depend on what you're wearing, time of day, possibly time of month, water intake, weight of food, etc. So I would rather focus on how my clothes fit, how I felt, my measurements, etc.

We're too numbers-obsessed and it's silly. NO ONE besides your JCC or a doctor is EVER going to ask you what your scale says so why would you let it have so much power over you?

Just my two cents. :)

I'm like Paulette....I just never was really nervous for my weight in's....more like excited to see those numbers going down, down, down.....since I knew I was doing everything to the "T" it just didnt matter what that "sometimes-lying-scale" said. hehe....I knew I was getting healthier, exercising, drinking my water and sooner or later the scale would show my losses....time always seems to tell!

I am sure this is only temporary for you...before long you'll just strut yourself right in there without a second thought ;)

I was also jittery for my first few weigh-ins! I had no idea what to expect, or even really believed that what I was doing made a difference. (I also had no working scale at home, so it was always going to be a mystery as to what I might have lost/gained.) BUT after the first month, I noticed that WOW! there was a consistent trend in my weight-loss from week to week! Those numbers were actually going DOWN, which greatly encouraged me to stay on track and continue making good decisions. Before I knew it, I was eagerly awaiting my weigh-ins, I was literally excited to go in to visit with my JCC, brag about my accomplishments and keep seeing that number go DOWN!

Of course, sometimes you might be surprised (or not so surprised, depending on how on track you are) to see a small gain, it's happened to pretty much everyone. My gains were during the holidays when I knew I had been indulging (not a LOT, but enough that I knew it was coming). Then again, I've gone into weigh-ins a couple of times with a sinking feeling, thinking I KNEW I was going to see a gain, and instead I was astonished to find a great loss! You never know! But I think the longer you play the game, the less nervous you will become. :) Keep up the great work, it sounds like you are doing all the right things, and you should be seeing all the right results! :D

Thanks everyone!! I decided that I was approaching it wrong and just need to relax into instead. I weighed in and lost .8#.....I'm not over the moon, but I'm happy with my first month at 9# lost evenly.....so, I think I am starting to see my trend. Every other week I have a bigger loss! It's funny cuz my sister even said, it always seems like it's every other week, lol. Thanks for the helpful advice and I hope everyone has a wonderful week!
