OMGSH I just cooked the cashew chicken and while I have loved everything I have had so far......this is not for me. The smell was somewhat offensive and the taste was well just gross.

I hope I'm not bashing anyones favorite and I get that everyone likes different things. This just isn't "my thing".

So I had a meal on my own - 6" Subway Roast Beef w/ Lettuce, onion, cucumbers and brown mustard. 310 Calories. A few more than the cashew chicken but still manageable.

What are your favorite foods?

ugh.........cashew chicken,,,,,blegh...........I thought the same thing when I had to eat it for the first time, lol
Uhm, I loved the Beef chow-Mein, the meatball stuffed sandwich, fish & chips and the mequite chicken.
The sweet & sour chicken is not good in my book either......

Molly, at least try it once before you decide. I really liked it and think it gets good reviews. I always ate it when I had an urge for Chinese food.

As Shannon said, we all have different likes/dislikes when it comes to food. Its such an individual thing.

Yes, Molly, try it. It's like anything else - some people will love it, others will tolerate it, and others will hate it. But you should try all the meals at least once so you can judge for yourself.

The only thing I didn't try was the chili and that's because I HATE chili in ANY form. I just don't like chili powder - the smell, the taste, anything.

My worse time was when I had to plan a chili-based event because I can't stand the stuff and when I went to the tasting I brought along a friend who LOVES chili so I used her to tell me whether our choices were good or not.

But at least once a year for the last 20 or so years, I try it - at least a bite - just to make sure that I still hate it. LOL

Every JC item has fans and foes. I'm on maintenance and the cashew chicken is one item I still buy at Jenny Craig.

The ingredient that seems to divide people is the shiitake mushrooms. They have a distinct, strong flavor. I like exotic mushrooms and enjoy the dish compared to some of the more bland choices.

To each her own - but you don't know until you try it (like mom said!).

I'm on the fence about the Chicken & Cashew... the very first time I had it I liked it quite a bit, but when I ordered it the 2nd time around I thought it was GROSSSS! LOL. I think it's because I tried to add my own stir-fried mushrooms/zuchini into it (and I'm a terrible cook) and my mushrooms were rubbery and nasty, and the whole plate smelled yucky, and I just immediately developed a taste aversion to it. Haven't ordered it since!

It's funny too, because Chicken & Cashew is my FAVORITE thing to order at Chinese restaurants! (Or, it used to be!) Must be all that MSG...

Some of my all-time favorite Jenny meals are the Turkey Burger, the Rising Crust Pizza, Chicken Fajitas, Thai Style Curry, and Chicken Tikka Masala (which is discountinued, waaaaaaahhh!!!!)

I actually removed the mushrooms and added some garlic pepper to it. Wish it had a wee bit more sauce.

Hi,

I like the cashew chicken, not great but I add some low-sodium soy sauce or Braggs Aminos, serve it over spinach (so I get in lots of vegetables). Makes it acceptable. Beef Mein - OK. Lasagna - tired of it, pasta mushy. Hate the soups except Beef and Barley.

I had the cashew chicken for dinner yesterday. I really enjoyed it. I put it over spinach leaves, too. Nice flavor.
I really like the Turkey burger. I dress it up with all sorts of veggies (esp. a thin slice of red onion). I'm into the soups now because it has been colder than normal for us. The soup is a comfort food I guess. Beef and Barley is really tasty.
For some reason, this time around I am liking the bruschetta veggie chips.

I love those veggie chips! I just commented on that the other night. They have the right amount of spice for my taste buds I guess, lol
