Hi Everyone! First post here. I'm a returning member. I joined JC after my daughter was born in '07, but had to quit after we moved and couldn't afford it anymore. So here I am, 4 years and 1 baby later! I'm feeling pretty nervous. Basically, I went for a surgical consult last week to see about getting a lap-band. But there are so many potential complications, I decided I want to give JC a try before I resort to surgery. I've done WW for 3 years and have lost no weight at all, and I've come to the realization that doing my own portion control is too hard for me at this point. I'd start and stop over and over again with the same issue every time: Day 1 would be great, Day 2 would be just okay, and by Day 3 I'd have fallen off the wagon. Back when I did JC 4 years ago, I really liked that it was all planned out for me.

So that's my story, and I'm sticking to it! Just have to say that I've read a lot of threads already, and you guys are really helpful and encouraging!

Hi Molly!!!!
I too tried WW........I enjoyed the recipes, but never did commit to the right portions.
I love JC as it is teaching me about portions and this concept of volumizing. It has been so much less stressful for me to not have to worry about what I am going to eat and just get my meal, slow down and breath through my meal and really taste what they are doing with the food.
I love to cook, so that's a big thing for me, to try and see what they are using to replicate things I like when I start MOMO.
Keep positive and keep posting and it's great to hear from you!
YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

Hi Molly, again. I'm glad you chose to try JCC before undergoing surgery. No major side effects here; just more healthier eating, exercising and losing weight. I also needed the structure of Jenny and this forum is the greatest and is full of great people with great ideas and support.

I know several people that have had the lap band. It works for a while, but then they figure out how to cheat because they were never taught the right way to eat. Jenny gives you time to practice and practice healthy eating and portion sizing. That is the key to this long term journey.

I welcomed you on another thread, Molly, but I'm glad you're here and decided to try JC before surgery. It's a MUCH tastier option and less painful option. :)

Just keep coming to the boards. We'll help you to stay on track and make this time the last time you will EVER have to do JC again. You can do it and we all want to help. :)

Thank you for the warm welcome, everyone!

I went to my first appointment tonight, and I'm a little underwhelmed, to be honest. There's not a lot of fanfare if you're a returning client. The counselor sort of just jumped right into ordering the food. I had to ask if I get books or anything (I think I threw mine out a few years back), and I had to pay extra for those. They even made some jokes because the computer system was running slow, and one of the ladies said, "Ugh, I wish we could just take their money and run!" I don't know, maybe I'll get excited again once I read the books again.

Hi Molly...I just welcomed you on another thread, so you get a double dippin' dose tonight. lol :P

Thats a real bummer they had to act like that at your centre. They must not have realized you were standing near...but they still shouldnt say things like that. smh

I was a returning client too, and didnt rec. any books.....so I guess they do expect us to keep them after eons. Fortunately, my jcc wasnt like yours.....she was VERY helpful and excited for me just like it was my very first time there. Not all jcc's act like yours did tonight...so if need be ask for another, it really does make a difference in your journey if you have someone you like. Dont feel bad requesting another one either...they switch them up all the time for ppl.

Keep coming here.....the support ROCKS!!!!!
