I don't care for salads and drinking V8 isn't going to work for me. What other alternatives are their. I tried spinage chips (spray cooking spray and bake them at 400 degrees for about 10 minutes until crispy) but does cooking them this way take away the nutrients or change the way the body processes them?

Is having salad necessary to loose weight?
Wanting to look as skinny as I feel on the inside.

Thank you for your post,

Any non-starchy vegetable, cooked or raw is fine if you do not like salad. Having salad is not necessary to lose weight. Make sure you include a fat serving if you are eliminating your salad dressing. Raw vegetables contain the most nutrients. The longer you cook a vegetable, the more nutrients are lost. Sauteing with nonstick cooking spray (or 1 tsp oil for a fat serving) and steaming in a small amount of water are good ways to prepare while conserving more nutrients. Grilling is fine as long as the vegetable doesn't get too soft. Cooked vegetables are easier for your body to digest.

Best Wishes,
Nutrition
