I am on my second week of JC. I run/walk everyday for 30-35 minutes. I have managed to shave 3 minutes off my 2 mile. I am happy with that. My question is I am on the 1200 calorie plan. Is that too little for the amount of exercise?

It probably is. I don't know if you're on the Metabolic Max program + have an armband or not, but definitely try to monitor your calorie expenditure vs. consumption. They say you shouldn't have more than a 1000 calorie deficit in a day. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but I have read that the body can only metabolize a certain amount of fat at a time, and having too big a deficit could mean losing more muscle mass than you'd care to.
Talk to your JCC and maybe even your doctor. Personally, when I saw my armband readings and that I had a 1300 calorie deficit the first few days, I started eating a banana with my breakfast and some almonds with my evening snack.

PS, congrats on knocking 3 minutes off your time! I used to jog before I hurt my ankle last summer, and I was so proud every time I took even a few seconds off my mile time. :)

Interesting...where did you learn about the 1000 calorie deficit? Mine is almost always above 1000 and im struggling to lose weight. Whenever I add almonds and for that matter my serving of dairy which is Soymilk for me since I don't drink milk) the fat content goes up so high my counselor gets concerned! But since being on Jenny I've become anemic so I'm tring to get more iron in my diet with things like almonds. I'm trying to see if I'm fooling myself lately by writing everything down!!! But usually I eat anywhere between 900 and 1300 calories. Just trying to figure this out!

Thanks for your responses. My JCC didn't seem to think it was a problem last week. I am eating roughly 1200-1300 calories on a given day. For several days this past week I've burned like 2700. I'm just worried that my body will go into starvation mode. I have at least 1300 cal deficit everyday. When I inquired about it I was told as long as I see a deficit there, I should be losing weight. So I was ok with it. When I got on the scale (which I know I shouldn't obsess over) it said I gained .5 lb. I guess I will just see what happens on Tuesday when I get weighed in. If I do gain I will bring this up again.

@victoria, I too have the arm band. I love it. It actually makes it like a game for me. Love seeing how active I am and I challenge myself to move at least 8000 steps per day. I usually am up around 10000.

I'll let you all know what happens this week.

I think it will take more than 2 weeks to determine if you need to increase your calorie level. your JCC will decide if your losing to fast and change it up if you are.
