Well, I went to my first JC appt in 2 years, and the weigh in was indeed terrifying... I have never ever let myself get out of control like this (I am 40 years old). I am 15 lbs higher than my previous highest weight (I am only 5'0, so that is a lot) and 30 lbs from goal.

I got the Metabolic Max plan, and they had the armband at the center, so I can start using it now. This is going to be very difficult since I feel like there is a time clock with my wedding in May. I ordered my dress before I gained all this weight... ugh. So, it is not just that I want to look and feel good, but I have to fit in this dress (it has been discontinued).

So, here I start on my journey... Current weight 155, goal weight 125. I have never had to lose more than 10-15 lbs before... this is scary. Thanks for all your support.

Here's to being a big loser!!! :P

Gretchen, concentrate on small goals - like 5 to 10 lbs. - they do add up. If not, you'll be overwhelmed by the "big" number.

Also concentrate on the wedding itself. You're going to be a beautiful bride marrying the man you love who will only see you through the love in his eyes. :)

You can do this. You'll have to work at it but you're so committed to doing it that I know you can.

And congrats on getting through your first WI!!!!! :) Last time that "nasty" number will ever show up. :)

There's a lot of us "shorties" here (I'm 5'2) so we understand how it is with trying to lose on a small frame but the good news is that even the little losses will seem big because it will show up on your littler body. :)

You're going to do GREAT!!!!! Keep posting!

Good for you Gretchen! Phewwww, now that is over with... lol.....you can focus on your goals.

On another positive note.....30 lbs really isnt alot to lose. I know you feel like it is and its the biggest you have ever been.....I get that, but MANY MANY here have 100 + to lose....so look at it like that and maybe it will ease the stress a little.

Gretchen, I'm glad the weigh-in part is over for you given how you were stressing about it. Phyllis and Melissa gave you some great advice. All I can add is you might want to start an exercise routine given you want to lose by your wedding. I started pilates a little over a week ago given my weight loss has stalled. Even though I have not lost a pound my waist measure has gone down an inch so my clothes are fitting better. Best of luck.

Thank you all! I love the support and advice. I have been a fitness person for the last 10 years or so (with the exception of the last 6 months), so getting back to that should not be too difficult (mentally). I belong to a martial arts academy where I do kickboxing and kung fu... I am going back there on Monday. I also go to the gym for cardio and weights. When I am in the zone, I work out 5-6 days per week for 1-2 hours a day. That will be my goal while on the program. Honestly, my biggest downfall is wine... I love it, and drink way too much of it. I plan to limit it significantly and work out extra on the days I plan to have some wine in the evening (plan to limit to 1 night a week or less).

Thanks!
Gretchen

Gretchen, all those sound Awesome and I am very impressed with your abilities, but just remember to go back into it VERY slowly.....dont expect too much out of yourself too soon. Take it one step at a time, and I am sure you will be right back to where you were before.

Thank you so much for kind compliments Gretchen! It took me longer than the usual person...over a yr, due to thyroid issues I have. I have been on maintenance for 8 months.

Gretchen, you will get those pounds off- you have your plan in place. Starting a journey Is scary, especially when you are on a timeline. Phyllis, Mel, and ocmimi always have excellent advice, so you have great women at your side when you have questions (they help me a lot too). Put a picture up to remind you of your goal- put up several. Use your timeline to keep you on track. Don't forget to share photos of you on your special day with us! Best wishes!
