I should receive my first JC shipment tomorrow. I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself. Of all the "diets" I've tried in my life I just really feel like this could work for me. Although the cost was a blow to the budget, Nothing is more important than my health and being here for my 3 amazing boys and my hubby. :) So, I am just curious if you all have any tips to help me get through my first week? I would love to hear all about how the program has worked for you. Mahalo!

Aloha! And welcome to the Jenny forums. This is such a wonderful support group, the folks here are full to the brim with great advice, encouragement, and positive energy! Come back often for tips and guidance! :)

I love love love being on Jenny, because it doesn't feel so much like a diet as it does a special club you become a part of that teaches you how to make healthy choices and provides you with DELICIOUS foods that you don't have to cook yourself! (I am a reluctant cook, so I LOVE not having to make all my own meals!) I've lost 55 pounds with only 40 left to go.

Here are my tips for your first week:

A.) Follow your planned menu as closely as possible. Every day is nutritionally balanced, so don't switch and swap foods. Keep an open mind about each dish, because you never know what will turn out to be your favorite!

B.) Keep your food schedule carefully so you eat every 2-3 hours. This is important because it keeps your metabolism going, and also since you are probably going to be experiencing a significant drop in daily calories, it keeps you from feeling HUNGRY.

C.) "Volumize" is a big Jenny term that means eating a large volume of food with the lowest calories: VEGGIES! Go to the store and pick out some favorites that you can pile onto your plate with dinner. Salad fixings are also important to make and eat with your lunch every day. And don't forget about those yummy fruit servings!

D.) DRINK TONS OF WATER! This is ever important, because water will flush out your system and actually helps keep your body from retaining water weight. Many of us like to jazz up our water intake by mixing up delicious batches of Crystal Lite (or other zero-cal drink mixes), or buy some Mio (0-cal liquid water enhancer, you can find at your grocery store).

I could probably go on and on and on, but you get the picture. ;) You're going to do great on Jenny if you follow these simple rules and keep up that fantastic attitude. :D

Welcome aboard Meg! :) LOVE love love ur enthusiasm!!!!

Along with Hannah's AWESOME tips......just take it one day at a time, and set small goals....like in 10lb increments, that way you wont get overwhelmed by looking at the big picture. Then be sure you reward yourself after every 10 lbs lost with something non-food....like mani/pedi, new earrings, book, movie etc...

Jc really is a simple plan and if you eat everything on your menu, drink plenty of water and exercise, you WILL lose!!!!

Just keep your focus, stay determined and dedicate yourself to be in this for the long haul.

This is a link to one of Hannah's threads....she gives great tip and advice.

Also, check out this thread with before/after pics.....it is VERY inspiring!

My faves are French Toast, Turkey Burger, the panini's, Meatloaf, fish and chips,Salsbury steak, smores bar, cheesecakes, cinnamon twist....to name just a few.

My least faves: Brocolli potatoe, none of the shelf stables meals, none of the egg breakfast, beef chow mein and so many others..... but I am a very picky eater, so please dont take my word alone on these. lol. You should try them all at least once. Everybody likes different things.....different strokes for different folks! ;)

ALOHA! I am new to the boards but not new to the plan. I am getting back on track now after a long period of on and off the plan. I am hoping to stay focused though it is so hard to do. But if you stay positive and follow the plan, you will do great. Water is the must! And my dream day would be the breakfast scramble for breakfast, Cheesey potatoes and chicken for lunch, ziti for dinner and triple chocolate cheesecake for dessert.

And one tip I can give is something my consultant told me when being concerned about the price: add up what you would spend in the grocery store (regular food, sodas, chips, other snacks) and it really isn't that much of a difference. I believe her because when i am "off" the plan and eating out at lunch, I can spend about $50 - $60 a week NOT counting what I spent on the Jenny food. So try and thing of it as an incentive to not waste the food, lol

Good luck!

Try not...Do or do not...There is no try...

YAY! :D I swear I was staring at the door ALL DAY LONG waiting for UPS to show up. haha So I've been spending the evening reading over all my materials and trying to figure what to begin with tomorrow since my JCC doesn't call for a few days. Can't wait to go to the North Shore and not be covered from head to toe!! Hubby and I are renewing our vows on our 10th anniversary (in 2 years) and I want to be the happiest and in the best shape I've ever been..Praying I make it through!! Thx for the support! Meg
