It is difficult to give a timeframe for building muscle because everyone is different and many factors play a role. When starting resistance training, many people notice improvements in strength very quickly. This is because the nervous system interacts with the muscle better, and you get stronger even before the muscle grows in size. Following these neuromuscular changes, muscles begin to get stronger and grow as long as they have the proper stimulus (resistance), nutrition and rest.
