Newbie here. Been on JC for less than 2 weeks. I'm a bit confused...

I'm currently eating from the weekly pre-planned menus --- which I love cuz there's no thinking involved. I know you can switch any of the days for any day you want. But can you choose any breakfast item on any day you want for breakfast, and any lunch item on any day you want for lunch, etc, etc. Or..... should I NOT be switching any of the food options on the menu?

(hope that makes sense.)

Thanks in advance.

If you are on the planned menu, you can switch around days but you have stay within THAT day.....eat that entire column of food. The days dont have to be in any order. I hope that makes sense. lol. I always feel like I'm not explaining it right.

Each day on the planned menu is balanced so that you are getting the right combination of carbs, fats and protein.

This confuses me because my JCC has let me change the meals and has never told me "that one won't work for that day", etc. And I've changed quite a few...

You know, there's the way that JC wants us to do it for MAXIMUM results and there's the way that some of us do it to please our palates and desires and still can get good results. Remember, you're eating all the food you're supposed to and some days you are just in the mood for something that's on another day of the PLANNED menu so you mix it up a bit. If you're still happy with your loss, that's what matters.

Plus being able to pick and choose is the reason so many of us don't do the PLANNED menu and instead prefer to do a PERSONALIZED menu.

Different strokes for different folks. :)

If your JCC is fine with what you're doing, then don't worry too much about it. But if you're concerned, specifically ask her the next time you're there. :)

i did the planned menus the first 2 weeks, then went to planning it on my own. My JCC has not objected. I like the flexibility of picking and choosing depending on what i feel like eating for a certain meal on any given day. Since i began on January 10 I've lost 7 pounds. So i think i'm doing ok. Of course, if i veer off course and need to make some changes because i'm not seeing any weight loss, i'll probably go back to the planned menus to see if that gets me back on track.
