Well I hope everyone had a successful weekend. I was REALLY hungry yesterday and even though I wanted to eat all the homemade potato salad I made for my family, I was able to contain myself with one taste. I had to make sure it was yummy for them, right? LOL.

Anyway to day I feel much better and as far as my hunger goes it is in check. Just filled up on some yummy watermelon and berries.

Has anyone ever used greek plain yogurt in place of sour cream? I love the fajitas and would like to jazz them up - any suggestions?

Yes, I usually use the plain greek yogurt in place of sour cream because, for me, it's more versatile.

As for the fajitas, I cook the veggies (and add other veggies I have around) in a frying pan with some Pam on a fairly high heat. Then I take the veggies out and in the same pan, I "fry" the tortillas after I've sprayed them with Pam and they become a little crispy - sort of a cross between a fajita and a taco.

Then I add sour cream and/or salsa and/or Wholly Guacamole (my fav). It comes in three 100 calorie packets and there's a plain one and a spicy one (also my fav).

What I usually do is use part of the packet earlier in the day with an egg-based breakfast or the chicken or turkey burger and then use the rest in the fajita (as my fat).

It is soooooo yummy. I could eat that EVERY day! :)

Phyllis - excellent ideas. I'm going to have to look for the Wholly Guacamole and I love the idea of putting part of it on my breakfast scramble or turkey burger and then saving the rest for dinner - EXCELLENT INFO - thank you VERY MUCH!!!

Karen - that is a wonderful commitment to yourself and I know you can do it.

Happy Monday everyone!!!

DOING THE HAPPY DANCE!!!!

Down 4.2 this week week. So excited, so happy, so "in control. It is refreshing. I don't dread meal time, I know what I'm going to be eating and other than a couple of hiccups I've loved all the food.

This week I am trying the rising crust pizza. My JCC tells me the secret is to not pre-heat the oven.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!!!

Yep - pop the rising crust in without preheating for 15 minutes and it's perfect! Congrats to you Shannon - you're doing so great!! I'm finishing up week 3 and hoping to see some substantial movement on the scale for a change.

Been at this for about 20 years & been to JC soooo many times I've lost count. (Good thing I bought the 'platinum' membership back in 1991 B) My last run at it was about 2 years ago, my oldest daughter was graduating high school and my motivation was all the prom and grad pictures that would be taken and kept for all eternity :o I didn't want them to be fat ones! So, I got about halfway to goal (30 lbs down and around 20 to go),,,,started feeling great, lost interest in the food and stopped going to Jenny but was at least able to maintain it within about 5 lbs for quite a while.

Then 5 months ago, I went on Chantix to quit smoking. Well, I don't smoke anymore and that's pretty much the only positive thing that resulted from it. The entire time on the meds was like riding a crazy roller coaster of emotions for 3 months and then for about a month after I was off. And I managed to gain 35 lbs during that time!

I have been at this weight what feels like a million times before, exactly at this weight as a matter of fact. But it has never felt this unbearable or stubborn. I'm thinking part of it is my age, I believe I'm becoming pre-menopausal on top of all of it so I guess "Mr Toad's Wild Ride" continues after all!

Last blood work in December showed that my A1C is on the rise and I'm what my doc called 'pre-diabetic'. There's some wonderful news. Knowing that diabetes runs in my family should make it a pretty serious wake up call, don't you think? So I intend to use that plus my youngest daughter's graduation this spring (more pictures!) as my motivation this time. I'm just hoping it's enough.... don't know if I'm really "feeling it" yet....

But at least it's really great to have a place to connect with others who have the same ulitmate goals!

Welcome back Sharon!

First of all, Kudos to you for kicking the smoking habit...you have my utmost respect, I am VERY impressed with your strong will and self respect.....loving yourself enough to stop that disgusting habit speaks volumes about you. There are MANY positive things that resulted from taking the Chantix....you will live longer for one! I also stopped smoking around 10 yrs ago....best decision I ever made, even though I gained weight it was well worth it, I can always lose the weight, but can never gain another life to live.

Secondly, another kudos for maintaining for so long...thats not easy, so YAY for you!

I was also pre-diabetic among tons of other health issues.....to which have ALL normalized since I lost the weight.

I am sure you will do great.....I have all the confidence in the world you will succeed again girl....if you can stop smoking, you can do ANYTHING in my book!!!!!!! B)
