When I was on JC the first time, I remember we had a couple of people who were chefs and waitresses and they were able to be surrounded by food and do okay.
I was a event/wedding planner so I'd always be at some party or a food tasting and that does make it more difficult.
Your best bet is to make sure you always have water and "free" snacks around (lots of veggies) or low-sodium veggie juice so you always have something to munch and crunch or sip. Plus, when your tummy's full, it does make it easier to just say "no thanks."
