Hi Everyone!!!

Has this ever happened to you all? I came down with a bad upper respiratory infection followed by a monster of a cold. I'm still trying to shake the cold, but I have lost ALL motivation!! I haven't exercised in almost 2 weeks because last week I was so sick and this week I am so tired at night, I go straight to bed. My appetite has been off too, I go from being ravenous to not wanting to eat at all.

And in other news, I am leaving my job of 8 years for a new job that will make my commute from home about 10 minutes each way! And while I am glad for the extra time back (I currently commute 3 hours a day in total), the salary is considerable less and I'm worrying over being able to afford Jenny :(

And last but not least, last week I finally made it into the double-digit weight loss category!!! That made me VERY happy (since I have been miserable and grumpy with this cold).

Gotta get my grove back.

Hey Kat. It sounds like you have a lot going on at once. Even though you haven't been able to exercise as much as you wanted, it sounds like you kept on plan and were able to continue to lose weight. That's great!!! Also, once the stress of starting a new job lessens, hopefully you will have more time to take better care of yourself.

This is only temporary and from getting to know you on the forums you will be back on track in no time. As for your financial situation, talk to your JCC about ways you can lower your weekly bill.

Hope you feel better and good luck with your new job.

Yea, what Mimi said....as usual, she knows just what to say.

So sorry to hear how ill you have been....but glad you are on the mend girl. Like Paulette said, sounds like you are still losing even though you havent worked out...so kudos to you!!!

I know how it feels to lose motivation....and it is SO hard to get it back once you are out of the habit of exercising. What I do is use psychology on myself. lol. I give myself 10 minutes to workout and after 10 min if I still want to quit, I can.....but 9 times out 10, I keep going.

Since you have been sick you dont need to jump right back into full fledge exercising like you did before you got sick.....start out slowly, and give yourself short breaks.

Like Pauly said, this is just temporary...before long you will get your mojo back girl, take small steps back to where you were. Illnesses can take alot out of you.

Here's to hoping you feel 100% again soon and good luck on your new job!!!

We gotta help you find that motivation again, girl! It hasn't been *that* long, so it couldn't've gotten far... ;)

It's all a mental game when it comes to motivation. Ask yourself those crucial questions again: WHY do you want to lose the weight? WHAT is it worth to you? Don't you want to know what it feels like to reach goal? The answer to that last one is easy! ;)

Like Melissa said, take it slow since you're still getting over your cold. Put in a little today, a little more tomorrow, until you're ready to give it your all! You can do it! We're here to support you! :D

Hopefully, you will feel well enough to exercise again. But, keep it short and not intense. Keep vision of the goal you want to reach and you will be fine. Good luck on the new job. It's stressful, but think of that 3 hours you will get back in your day. As for budget, talk to JCC, they can help you lower your cost, I had to.

NYCGIRLCAT,
Congrats on the weight loss and your new job! I just got over a cold myself. I took it really easy for a few days and just did a little yoga from tv shows. I also did a low intensity Zumba that I have on the Wii. So like Melissa said, just do a little bit and if you feel like you can keep going, keep on going!

I'll bet your JC councilor can help you with a plan to lower your cost. Mine mentioned that to me at our fist meeting. She just helped a client choose lower priced items.

New jobs can be stressful and sometimes those colds take 3 weeks to get rid of, so take care of yourself!
Start Date: 11.29.11
