hey everyone!

when i first started jenny back in november, i was at 153. every week i would see the scale go down a little bit and was very happy. i always log my weight in the chart in my tools section and it was a constant downward line...

lately however, my last six weigh-ins have been up a little, down a little more, up a little, and so on... to the point that my chart is now a big zig-zag design! i do continue to lose overall but on the days of my weigh-in, when i go up a little.. are always so frustrating! <_< i also go before dinner...

i was wondering if anyone else loses like this?? i never experienced this before and was wondering if it is "normal" to lose this way?

any feedback would be great...thanks!! :)

Completely normal! When I was in my losing phase my losses were all over the charts.....I often joked with my jcc that my chart looked like an EKG. lol

If you are averaging losses overall, I wouldnt worry about it yet. Now if you start stalling out and not losing at all, I would change up some things in your plan if I were you....which really wouldnt be such a bad idea right now to maybe boost your losses.

Changing up your workout would be a good start. Our body often gets so used to the same ole same ole and needs shocking. Also, make sure you are getting all your water in...it really does make a difference.

But yea, what you are going through is normal.

Thanks Melissa, I drink a lot of water all day, so I will definitely need to change up my exercise. Thanks - glad to know it is a normal thing. I guess It was much more fun to see a loss every single week! LOL

Oh, Roxy, you're not alone. I swear there were times that my weight loss journey looked like the rhythm of the cha-cha (back a step, in place for two, forward a step)! LOL

As Melissa said, maybe you just need to change things up a bit so that your body doesn't get used to a "rhythm" of diet and exercise and that can be enough to make your weight loss dance where you're more like doing a "waltz" where you're mostly dancing backwards. :)

Hang in there. Change things up a little. And watch the scale stop bouncing around - well maybe not entirely - but a lot less.

I think that the closer you are to goal the harder it is take the weight off, at least for me. The first 30lbs was a piece of cake (I originally weighed 225), the 2nd 30lbs had to be earned slowly with a lot of sweat. I have a feeling that my last 25lbs is going to take me a while...

Jen, it is true that it gets more difficult as we near our goal. Mine started slowing down when I had about 15 left.....but with perseverance it WILL happen!!!

Hi Roxy,
Has been scale up/scale down by as much as 5 lbs every time I lose weight. Don't be disheartened if the scale reads up one week. If you're sticking to the plan, that scale will drop again!

Mine does that. Overall loss, but a series of plateaus and some "ups" mixed in. It seems to follow a pattern for me. I guess we should just look at the average.

I love this!! I'm reading and thinking............I can't wait for my chart to have more dots, lol, so to me it's an accomplishment that you have all these weigh ins to chart! And you are losing!!! Congrats and keep at it!
