Ladies you're all going to do sooooo well and I know if you use the forums you're going to get so much out of them - support, friendship, inspiration, answers, tips, tricks - the whole magilla. So even if you've done it before, it can feel like a "new" experience for you.

And this time, if you work it right, you can make it your last time in the losing phase of JC and stay in the maintenance phase and wouldn't that be great! :)

I started back with Jenny 12/26/11. I'm down 17 lbs so far & I've been struggling for the last 10 days. I was sick & ultimately needed an antibiotic to shake it, but from the time I started feeling sick, I wanted eat what I felt like at the moment. I didn't graze & have stuck with the program but it hasn't been easy.

What can I do when I feel this way?

My job is extremely stressful. It seems much more stressfull in the last couple of weeks. The 15 min for a consultation makes me feel rushed whe I go to the center to weigh in & purchase food for the coming week. This just seems to add to my stress.

When I was sick my consultant told me that when I am sick I can expect to maybe continue to lose that week (I did), maybe I'll gain, maybe I'll stay the same. Isn't that a condition that exists any week whether I'm sick or not???

I feel like I'm just a bump on her road for the day. In fact, I've had no "before" pictures or measurements taken. I guess she doesn't have any faith in me.

I realize this post is all over the place but I want to know if others who are getting re-started are having issues like this.

Hi Cam! Welcome to the plan and forums! Congrats on your initial loss! But I'm so sorry you're struggling now, but you've come to the right place for support. :)

Look, when you're sick, everything feels "off" and that even means your diet.

While your JCC might have been a bit more helpful in her "You may lose, you may gain, you may stay the same" - ummm, for lack of a better word "advice" - she actually wasn't too far off.

Some meds can cause you to retain water and "gain" or not lose, while others won't affect your loss at all.

What also can affect your loss though is stress and that's because it releases a hormone, Cortisol, and that makes it very possible that you'll see a temporary "gain" and that often causes more stress, more hormones released and then you get in this vicious cycle. :(

My first piece of advice is to ask for another JCC. Keep trying out different ones until you find one you "click" with because that's a major part of the program and the benefits you paid so dearly for. So talk to your center's director, explain your concerns with your current JCC and tell him/her what you are looking for in a new JCC and see if you can be matched with someone who is more helpful to you.

At the least, INSIST on a "before" picture and having measurements taken. You're entitled to it! And even though you've already lost a considerable amount of weight, you will still be able to see a major difference in your "after" picture. Or, if you already have a 'before' picture of yourself from about the time you first started you can use that (and the picture I posted in my signature line isn't my "true" before - I was about 15-20 lbs. heavier when I started - I think you can still see a difference in my "after" shots).

And because the pictures and measurements haven't been taken, it might not be that she doesn't "have faith" in you but rather an oversight. :o

JC has also been hit by the economy and too many of the JCCs that still have jobs are being overworked with too many clients and they're overwhelmed too, so you may have to "remind" her (or your new JCC).

You say you want to eat. Are you really "hungry" or is it that "old devil" talking and telling you to "indulge"?

If you're really hungry, drink more water, volumize like crazy with non-starchy veggies, drink some low sodium veggie juice (like V-8 or Motts) and make sure you're eating something healthy every 2-3 hours.

Please come to the forums often and let us be your support system. We DO believe in you and we ALL want to help you achieve your goals, trade tips and hints, listen to each other vent and just make this journey as much fun as possible.

You CAN do this and we want to help. :)
