Having a stressful day which is my usual trigger to eat (non-Jenny food) and drink. I've been really good since the start of the year, but having a rough day today. Need some encouragement, or a swift kick in the rear.

Laura,

We are all here. I live on the other side of the country (Florida) from you but know that we're all here for you.

Yes, there are always going to be temptations. Just keep reminding yourself why you started JC to begin with. The stronger your motivation, the easier it becomes. So step away from the "bad" stuff and find other ways to distract yourself until you're under greater control. Come to the boards and tell us exactly what's going on that's making you want to go off plan. Call a friend and talk about something non-food related. Go for a walk. Take a shower (you can't eat or drink in the shower. LOL). Get a manicure or give one to yourself - again something you can't eat and do at the same time. Take up a craft or hobby that requires you to use your hands for something other than putting food and drink in it.

Just tell us how we can help and we'll be there for you. :)

Step away from the junk food! LOL Seriously, you will feel amazingly proud of yourself if you can manage to resist the temptation. It's not easy, but it's worth it. Stress and raging emotions will try to lead all of us to the pantry every time, and the key to overcoming them is to realize when it's happening. It sounds like you've already recognized this by coming to the boards first, so well done! My advice is to either find something more distracting (my outlet is usually sinking into a comfy bed with a good book) or to keep a stock of free or limited free foods on hand. Sugar free Jello is great for this, and I've also recently started stocking sugar-free popsicles (15 cal. each, yum!). Unfortunately, stressful days have a habit of popping up unexpectedly, so it's always good to have a plan. You can do it! :D
