JC is a food-based program and it's designed to work with the JC foods.
I'm not sure where you're going with this. Did you find out that the food was too expensive for you or you just didn't care for the JC foods? It happens, sometimes....
JC uses an "exchange" system to calculate the daily intake of proteins, fats, and carbs needed to help you lose weight. It appears complicated at first but, basically, it's the same system of food exchanges that is used by the American Diabetes Association.
The exchanges that will help you lose weight are NOT the amounts you use for a MOMO---MOMO's are meant to be used only occasionally. MOMO exchange levels are higher than DOMO levels, which you will learn when you hit your halfway point.
To answer your question simply---yes, of course you can lose weight following ANY sensible diet plan that contains the level of calories that your present JC plan allows. JC food is not magic. It's the combination of balanced nutrition and portion control that makes it work.
If you are going to go to the trouble of figuring out all the exchanges in the non-JC foods that you plan on eating I would suggest Weight Watchers, where you'll get a lot of assistance in doing what you're trying to do here.
BTW, if you aren't buying the JC foods you'll most likely not get much help as far as meal planning or counseling from your center, if that's important to you.

It is inner firmness, decisiveness, determination, resolution, persistence and the power to push towards any goal.

I agree with BelugaBabe. JC is a food-based program so you need to think about why you chose JC instead of something like WW if you don't intend to eat the food.

Sure, at some point (usually halfway), you will start to transition to "real" food but in the beginning, it should be all about the JC until you fully understand how the program works, ratios of proteins to carbs to dairy to fat, etc. before going out on your own (with your JCCs help) to eat other foods.

If you can share why you want to do food other than JC, perhaps we can help you a little more so that we can help you with some choices and give some suggestions.

Whatever you decide, I hope you'll come to the boards often for support, answers, tips, and some great info that other JCers can share with you and each other. :)
