Hi Everyone,

So I am starting week 6 and to date I'm down 9.2 pounds!!!

While I am celebrating that I'm moving in the right direction, I can't help but feel a little disappointed. I thought I'd be in the double digit weight loss category by now (and I'm SO close). But it will only make me work that much harder this week because I am determined to be down at least 10 pounds in total by next week.

I know I probably sound a bit ungrateful and whiney, but I thought I'd turn to all of you for a little boost in morale.

Thanks,
Kat

Yes, it's frustrating whe you're soooooooooo close but, come on, you could have just had an extra glass of water, heavier underwear, or anything silly and you're probably already there. But think of it this way, you'll be even closer to your next 10 lb. goal by next week!

This isn't a race, kiddo, it's a marathon and you have the patience and willpower to get there. Just dig it out if necessary. But so far, you're doing FANTABULOUS!! :)

congrats! I just started. Be proud of your efforts. I agree with Phyllis, it could just heavier underwear! Haha

It sounds like you are in good spirits and have a positive attitude. Keep up the great work.

I had my weigh in this morning, I was only down .8 I was alittle upset. But, I have to look at the total picture 13.4 and I am starting my 7th week. It's funny how things work out. When I first joined I had a guy and I was so nervous going to him and I have had this other lady that I originally spoke to on the phone one other time. So, I decide to go to her today, well guess what I like the man better. He was so understanding when I was checking out. I guess he could see on my face I was disappointed with my loss and the all he kept doing was trying to make me feel better. So I think I am going back to him, I just felt rushed with her and not as helpful. So I am sitting here drinking more WATER. Hope everyone has a good week. Thanks for listening, I love these boards. So much information !!!

Agree with all the patience posts above! You are 9.2 down which is fantastic. Remember you didn't gain it all overnight and it won't come off that way either.

Good for you for taking a look at the whole picture....thats what counts anyway, your average....and congrats on the loss, the scale is going in the right direction. Keep in mind that when you have no loss or a small one, its probably nothing you did....it could be hormones, water weight from too much sodium, exercise, meds....many things. It will all balance out though, you are doing GREAT!

I know it can be frustrating. I'm actually at week 12 and just 9 lbs but...I'm happy with it. I'm looking at it this way. I'm in it for my health and the long term. As I've reached this age (52), it takes so much longer to change my body whether it's losing weight, gaining muscle, or improving my flexibility and balance. However, ultimately it's worth it! Another perspective for me is that I'm headed in the right direction. If I do nothing, I gain so small losses are victories. I did stall around the holidays, esp between mid-Dec and New years. But again, that is better than gaining. I have my frustrating moments too but if I really think about it, I can put it all in perspective...guess that gets easier with age :)

Thanks everyone....

Melissa is right, I just need patience! And Phyllis is right, I've got a marathon and not a sprint coming up with this weight loss, so slow and steady wins the race. I think the only reason I was feeling bummed this morning is because my husband and I are going to Mexico for a delayed anniversary celebration in March and I really wanted to be a bit smaller for this trip. But I'm realizing what I lose before the trip is pounds I didn't gain so I'm ahead of myself! :)
