Hey Everyone!!

So, my wedding is in 85 days! (March 31st, 2012) and my dress doesn't fit. I gained some weight in the past and the short of it is that I need to lose 6 inches for this dress to fit. Well, I'm just struggling with panic/time. The weight is coming off SO slow (hasn't moved in 4 days). Since I was eating so much before Jenny and I am following Jenny EXACTLY, I figured the scale would be moving. Even if not quickly, at least moving. It will have been 1 week tomorrow and everyone talks about how you lose a ton in your first week and it slows down from there. Any feedback?

Are you working out as well? If you want to lose inches you may need to work out with weights - and may even want to invest in a few sessions with a personal trainer.

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!!

Make sure you let your consultant know.....follow the structure of Jenny and get your body moving and the weight will come off....remember Jenny looks for 1% weight loss per week! Good Luck!

And remember that your body retains water weight if you aren't hydrating enough. Want to lose weight? Then you need to drown yourself in water. Yes, the frequent trips to the bathroom are annoying...but it is so worth it when you step on the scale at the end of the week.

Were you totally off JC before you came back on in earnest? Or were you doing JC and "cheating"? If so, that might explain why there isn't the "large" loss the first week. And that "big" number BTW is usually just water weight anyway which is why the average weight loss is 1-2 lbs. a week.

But I agree that you REALLY need to start exercising in earnest if you haven't been doing that before. Even you start out just walking that will help TREMENDOUSLY. But if you need to lose a lot of inches - and I'm not sure those six inches you need to lose is from. I mean, you need to lose six inches off your waist or hips or is that six inches in total?

You say you're doing JC to the letter. Does that include drinking a MINIMUM of 64 oz. of water (flavored water or water flavored with Crystal Light or Mio)? Are you exercising 30-60 minutes a day? Are you eating all of your veggies? Are you eating every 2-3 hours? Are you avoiding ALL alcohol and things like diet soda? Are you staying away from the salt shaker? Are you eating your fruit?

Not doing any of those things can have an effect on the speed of your weight loss so if you truly want to be on the exact JC program to get the results, you're going to have to make sure you're following the program to the letter.

The other thing to remember is that stress releases cortisol and that will also cause you to gain weight and/or not lose. And, let's face it, even without the pressure of not being able to get into your wedding gown right now, there is always a ton of other stressful situations with wedding planning. (I'm a professional planner so take my word on that one. It happens to EVERYONE.) So in addition to the exercise, you need to find ways to get some stress relief as well.

Hang in there, hon. Give yourself time. Work the program and it WILL work for you. :)

Nancy5012: I am not working out. I’m still trying to find time to work it in my schedule. I tell you, full time school + full time work + all things life = one very busy girl. LOL…That is my goal though to start working out. No excuses! I’m sure you guys are right about it increasing my loss. Thanks for the feedback. I really appreciate it.

MommaB: Thanks for the advice. I will let them know.

SweetJ: I definitely am drowning myself. I swear I live in that bathroom. I’ve always been a big water drinker though. That really wasn’t an adjustment for me. It’s not uncommon for me to drink 100+ ounces of water a day. I’m just a thirsty girl. What can I say? Thanks for the feedback though! :)

Mainegirl78: I know you are right! I definitely need to tone!

I Called Jenny: Yes, I was completely off Jenny when I started. I have never been on it before. As far as following it perfectly, I guess that’s a no since I wasn’t working out. However, I am on top of my water, eating every 2-3 hours, avoiding everything beverage wise except for water. I’ve really always been that way. Not a drinker and never really liked soda. No added salt and I am eating the recommended fruit.

Looks like my hold up is not working out!! Thank you everyone for responding to the post. I really appreciate all of the feedback! :) I’ll keep you all posted come next weigh in! :)

Go over all of your Limited Free extras and the amount of fruit you are eating with you JCC. Make sure that your JCC takes the time to review your food log. It could be you are overdoing one or two things, That was my problem, once I figured it out, I lost 3 lbs!
