I agree with Melissa. I bought my "transitional" clothes at thrift stores, consignment shops, and big box stores. I never wanted to spend that much money on those clothes and didn't invest in a new wardrobe until I hit goal. And even then I shopped at places like Marshalls, Kohls, TJ Maxx and such to get the designer labels at the discount prices. :)

Hi Gail & Lisa
First of all congrats on your progress so far. You are on the right track.
I did Jenny in 2006 and lost 80lbs but never made it to goal. Felt good and started to think it was OK not to follow plan because heck I had lost 80 lbs right? Well, I slowly started putting it all back on.

So here I am 5 years older and almost back to my original start weight with 90 lbs to lose
I am a single mom with 2 sons - 20 & 17. My oldest just went out on his own in December and my youngest will be going to college in September. I want to be down at least 50lbs for his Graduation in June and in ONEderland and feeling fit for when he leaves in September. This way i can feel comfortable in my body so that I can get out there and meet people socially when the nest is empty.

Good luck to everyone...i know we can do this AND maintain once we are at goal.

Sending skinny vibes your way.

You can do it Bonnie!!!! You can do it. We're all here for you. This forum has been so awesome to me the last two weeks since I got back on track with Jenny. I lost 5 lbs after week 1. I get weighed again Monday evening, I honestly can't wait. I can already feel a difference. Just stick with the plan, eat the Jenny meals, it'll be worth it and make the biggest difference. And even though you did Jenny before and you know what to expect, it may be a difficult transition, because I have to tell you I had a hard time adjusting to it at the start of my first week, but then like a miracle it got better and I lost 5 lbs. But every day is different. On Tuesday after my weigh in, I had a tough day again, even though the whole previous week went fine! I've been doing good though this week. The weight will come off if we just stick to it, and get walks in too. I go walking once or twice a day, 30-40 minutes.

We can do it!!!! : )

Thanks Gail.
I just weighed in and lost 6.4 lbs. Just 0.4 away from my first goal of 10 lbs :D
It feels so good when I do well it makes me wonder why I sabotage myself
I won't let it happen this time!!
Good luck Gail & Lisa on your Monday WI.

Skinny vibes to all.

Hi all-

Thanks for all the continuous support :-). I just returned home from Florida yesterday and went for my weigh in this morning. I lost 2.4 lbs.! I'm very happy with the result because i was away without any JC foods, replacing them with restaurant meals. It feels great to be home and i cannot wait to get back to eating my Jenny!! I feel like last week was my first "real" week on the program because I was so up and down for my beginning two weeks. I am finally ready to commit and do this for real!! Can't wait to hear if anyone else had any good news this week! Keep up the good...no, great work, everybody!

I have found a couple of things that help me: Instead of the 1 cup of low- fat milk, I use unsweetened almond milk which is 35 calories a glass and has more calcium than low- fat or fat- free milk.

I do this because of lactose intolerance. But this gives me an extra glass of milk a day and that is something I can drink with a snack and then I feel fuller.

Adding a bit of cinnamon to fruit can rev up your metabolism slightly and may keep. Loos sugar swings in check. Good luck! I need help, inspiration too...really have some hard days!

I'm worried. I got a cold overnight. There's no way I can get out there and go on a 40 min walk. I have no strength right now to do it. What should I do if this cold lingers for days, and by the time I'm better it'll be pouring rain outside and can't go on walks? It's supposed to rain heavily here Thurs-Sat and then hit & miss showers Sunday-- first rainfall in 30 days. I'm lucky I live in California where it hardly rains so I've been able to get consistent walks in, and now that might not be happening. Worried. I hate having a cold! : (

Hi, Gail-

I used to worry like that too when I couldn't get a workout in! But you have to do what is healthy for your body! Just stay on track with your JC foods and nurse yourself back to health so you can put in 100% when you are ready to start walking again. Don't push yourself to walk because you feel like you have to do it- you can hurt yourself or wind up feeling more ill. You just need a little R&R till you can get back on your feet. And as for the rain- do you have access to a treadmill? If not, are there other ways that you can get some form of activity in?

Congrats to our "losers!" ;) You're doing FANTASTIC!!!!

Gail, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. Take care of your health first and worry about the exercise later.

As for foul weather, check to see if your cable company offers an Exercise Channel (Comcast does but I don't know if others do as well). You'll find all sorts of great indoor exercises and for walking, I used to use the Leslie Sansone 5 minute walking video and just keep playing it over and over (except when she'd do the "cool down" part of the video near the end, I'd just keep walking). Where you are it might be too cold or rainy. Here in FL, it was often too hot and humid.

In any case, I'm sorry you're feeling ill so just focus for now on feeling better.

Remember, this is a lifelong program and there are going to be times in your life when you won't be able to exercise as much as you'd like so you just work around it or suspend it until you can. Hang in there and feel better soon! :)

Thanks, been really congested, and sneezing all day, not to mention a headache pretty much all day. Hopefully will get a good night's sleep and can get a little more active this week. I ate good though! Had the Breakfast Scramble, Rotini, and the Chicken Pasta Parm for my 3 main meals. Had a sliced Granny Smith apple earlier today, and an Anytime Bar too. : )

Hi, All!

I'm snowed in here so I just thought I would say hello since the forum has been silent for a couple of days :-) Last night was one of my first nights out with friends since starting the program and I did great! I was nervous at first because we always go to the bars and I am always ordering something when we are out. But, I ate my Jenny meal before I left (Fish and Chips lol) and then I had a salad at the table while everyone else was chowing down on wings and whatnot. Not gonna lie, it was definitely difficult, but it definitely feels good to pull through:-) Just thought I'd share a little personal success story that I'm very excited about! Hope all is well with everyone else!!

-Lisa
