Hi. I like it a lot - the foods are great, and the consultants are so helpful & when you ask, give recommendations that are easy to implement and make sense.

How long have you been on the program?

I love being on Jenny. The food is great. I haven't found really anything I don't like and for the first time in my life I only gained 1 pound over the holidays. Usually it's like 5 sometimes more. Jenny has taught me about portion sizes and that's the most important thing to me. When I look back I can't believe how much I was actually eating and thought it was a normal portion. Now the only thing I need to get better at is exercise. I don't like it which makes me feel lazy which bums be out. It's a vicious cycle for me. Atleast I'm still losing but I think I could lose more if I could just find something I like to do. OK I'm rambling sorry.

It took me 5 months on the program to learn how crucial the "mind" portion of the program is. I have much healthier outlook on food now - wish I had learned this 15 years ago!

The food is very easy to prepare, and as long as you are eating all the food, veggies and fruit you will not be hungry.

I've been on other programs and have lost weight on all of them - then gained it all back plus more. I know I can lose weight, the true test is when I get to goal and have to maintain it. My head is in the right place and I have a lot more confidence that I will be able to keep it off.

Lynn -

Welcome to Jenny.

I'm on Week 17 and have lost 45 pounds (as of today..weigh in..I lost 3 pounds over the holidays..go figure)

I'm a HUGE fan. It's pretty simple...follow the menu..eat the food...move your body (at least 30 minutes a day or 10,000 steps..however you want to count it..I'm a Metabolic Max member of JC...so we are a bit more numbers oriented...;-)...)

You don't have to worry about a lot of anything...once you get past the 1/2 way point...you will start to take a little more ownership of your activities and food...but if you follow the plan...it will work. Seriously. It really, truly does.

It's actually really simple. No counting of points, no worry about the carbs, the proteins, the..whatever. Just follow the menu.

I love the food. I've discovered over the past few weeks things that I don't like. But they are few and far between. But I'm a former fat guy who pretty much ate crappy, sugar loaded, carb loaded, over processed, high calorie food constantly...so my expectations of food had to change a bit...once I discovered that Jenny's food didn't have all the sugar, sauce, butter etc...that I loved. Oh yeah..and today...I'm a vegetable fanatic. Apparently, eating those are good for you..and you actually feel full and lose weight. (You are going to get A LOT smarter about food around here)

But at the end of the day..the program has taught me about the things that I should have always known. Portion size, calorie count, healthy balance, physical activity, smart eating...oh yeah..and the importance of drinking water. Yep...it's massively important. ;-)

As I continue to work toward my goal...I really feel like I have gotten smarter. I haven't reached the maintenance stage yet...but I'm getting prepared. The training wheels then come off and I have to be responsible for executing on the things that I've learned.

Jenny Craig is kind of like a college course on smart eating.

I tell everyone.."I can eat ANYTHING on Jenny Craig...I just can't eat EVERYTHING".

What can I say about JC that hasn't already been said? Not much. But I can tell you that I lost 45 lbs., kept it off for almost 4 years, stupidly (and it was a dumb mistake), I gained 10 and ran back to Jenny, lost that, and have kept it off for another four+plus months.

I didn't gain any weight over the holidays (despite huge dinners and parties) and I, in fact, LOST weight. And on maintenance, I haven't had any JC food because I learned HOW TO EAT!!!!

Yes, I have FINALLY learned to have a totally different relationship with food and I know that while I may have lost weight on other diets (actually every diet known to mankind including some really gross ones), this is the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE (I'm over 60), that I know what to eat and how to eat. And there's NOTHING that I don't eat. I just know how much of things I can eat and when to eat them.

Jenny works but YOU have to work the plan. Forget everything else you think you know about food. Just be prepared to start over and learn a new way of living that you can enjoy FOREVER!!! :)

Well as you can see by ALL the comments, this is a grrrreat program. I am in maintenance, and still eat SOME jc foods.....and not b/c I dont know HOW TO EAT, but b/c I love the convenience of jc foods....many maintainers do this by choice. If you choose to stop eating jc when you hit your goal, Jenny has tought you the tools to do so, so that you will maintain your weight.

You will find your mojo and what works for you along your journey.

Oops, sorry, didn't mean to sound as if MY decision not to eat Jenny foods was because other maintainers didn't know how to eat. It was just a PERSONAL challenge to myself. LOTS of folks on maintenance DO continue to eat JC food sometimes because they enjoy it and I'm sure at some point, I'll go back and order a couple of meals because they ARE sooooo tasty and convenient. :)

JC is a wonderful program. The food is ... it's okay. Some items are pretty enjoyable, but I'll admit -- the portions are very hard for me to get used to. Despite loading up on vegetables and water, I still find the first 7-10 days rather challenging. However - it also means I got fat from eating A LOT, which is comforting. Is that weird? I just mean - it's validating to know that there is a reason and a solution. And JC is a superbly structured solution. Couple the program with the Body Media armband, and you have an amazing set of tools. Good luck!!

My story:
I started on the program in Jan-2011.
From Jan to May 2001, I was able to - rather easily - lose almost 20 lbs. I left for a few different personal reasons, and have been in quite a cycle of no control and a bit of depression.

I just re-joined yesterday (01/02/12), and was disappointed to see that I'd regained all I'd lost plus about 7 lbs.
Although disappointed in myself for the major slip, I'm proud to be back. And I'm confident that I can re-find the confidence and joy I was starting to realize through my weight-loss with Jenny (plus quite a bit of exercise, which I've abandoned over the last 7 months).

Welcome back, Slim!!! Remember, it's not how often you slip but how quickly you get back up and how much you learn. It's all about progress, not perfection.

And you KNOW JC works so that's a HUGE plus for you! :)

But we're all here to root you on, offer tips, lend an ear or be here in any way that we can. You CAN succeed and this time YOU WILL!!! :)

Glad to see you back girl !

I am sure you will succeed again. You did so well before....so I have confidence in you!!!

I think the key to it is finding out what caused the derailment and avoid that trigger in the future. It may not be all that important to some ppl to not focus on HOW many times we slip, but it is very important to figure out WHY so we dont keep repeating past behaviors.....so therefore if we learn from them, then we wont slip so often.

Like JC preaches....its DEFINATELY about progress NOT perfection! Progress in moving past those triggers that jack up our journey.

Amen to this Nancy! I couldn't have said it better. The mind is the key to this program and I've only recently been working on getting my head in the right place. No more extremes of being perfect or being super upset when the scale doesn't say what I want for a week. It's about taking it in stride and focusing on the positive changes you are making!

Almost a week into the program and I have to say I LOVE the food and IT IS WORKING....I am losing weight!!

I had the spaghetti yesterday at work and it was delicious. I have not tried all the different foods yet since I am pretty new to Jenny but so far, I have not found one I do not like. The program is more expensive than Nutrisystem that I belonged to before but it is well worth the difference in price. I actually look forward to my meals!!
