The rewards program is no longer offered to new clients -- hasn't been for years. But, for those of us who paid for that program, if we renewed each year, we got a certain discount on food --- most people ended up with a 30% discount...now, JC has decided to phase out the rewards ---so even those clients who signed up and paid for that program -- an renewed each year --- that program will be gone and we'll loose our food discount and I have yet to hear what program we will 'become.' It was quite distressing that JC would choose not to honor their previous membership agreements, but they are accurate when they say that the fine print on the "one year agreement" (they won't call it a contract) that individuals signed each year says that they can stop the program or make other changes like that. Frankly, it simply reinforced to me that in the end, JC Corporate wants to make money and that is their bottom line --- sure, the centers and JCCs really are about helping people and they want you to succeed, but they won't shy at taking your money any way they can --- discontinuing the rewards will cause me to eventually stop buying food.

I'm one of those who signed a Rewards "agreement," too, so I understand where you are coming from. I was past my halfway point and doing many of my meals on my own, and buying less and less of the JC foods when I heard about the plans for "phasing out" the Rewards program.
I was so disgusted. I felt betrayed and felt that I had been lied to (because I HAD been lied to). Fine print, fancy dancing, hard sell. I really hate the feeling that I'm left with after the JC experience.

I will be saying goodbye to Jenny because I can't pay over $100.00 per week on food for just myself and still have to buy vegetables, fruit and food for my family. I have 100 lbs to loose and when I add that up at the 1/2 to 1 lb per week rate I am averaging, I simply cannot afford it anymore. I am also unhappy with my consultant and director who have been not much help at all. They ask the questions from the script and tell me goodbye. I do not feel supported in any way. Lesson Learned.

By reading this and especially the Anytime Bar gas debate I will not be ordering that and I am tired of the soupitizers as well thats about 31$ savings. I might substitute the breakfasts as well but even if I keep those my cost will be 110$ a week which isnt bad. Thanks for the advice everyone!

Hello there! I have been doing JC since May last year. I had lost 35 lbs so far since Nov I had being playing a game of loose a pound gain a pound. I know that is completly my fault since I haven't follow the plan 100%. I'm half way so I had been doing 1-2 days on my own. My JCC is awesome not pushy at all she asked me "do you want to try any time bars?" and I always say NO! It's her job to ask its my option to decline :).

I had never bought them neither the soups, dressing or syrup. I am diabetic and there are way better syrups or dressing that taste way better and for the price of couple pouches I can get a whole bottle. I recently started to do my own breakfast, I only buy the scramble and english muffin. I buy Multi grain Cheerios and I save a lot just in that. I only buy few desserts now and subtitute laughing cow or those 100 cal snacks. I went from spending$140 something to $75 per week. I don't know you guys but I had ate so many times the same food that at times I smell it and I gag. I agree their food is tasty and I love it but after awhile of eating the same thing I got tired. I ate pancakes and french toast for like 6 months and now if I try to eat them and I gag. So i stop buying them, and I'm glad because they were way to expensive. I sometimes make my own with whole weath flour and they are super healthy and way tastier. I get lots of recipes from a site call http://www.skinnytaste.com/

Anyway, everyone has to look for what will work for you, and the bottom line is that you have to learn how to cook thing that you like but healtier. Since you can't be on jenny for ever.

Before joining JC, I looked at my food budget to see what I spent each month. Then, I Googled quite a bit to find out what people were paying on average for JC food/week. I was spending more before JC........ I think the cost is going to be relevant to each person's personal level of what value they place on what they spend.

I was told if I take supplements, I didn't need the Anytime Bar. I wasn't offered Soupetizers. After reading the forums here, I want to supplement with the Pria Bar and will add my own low sodium, broth based soup to what I am buying at the JC Center. I thought about swapping out the cereal, but............after eating JC's cereal, I don't run for something else to eat like I do when I eat my favorite Honey Nut Cheerios - they make me hungry. With JC's cereal, I'm satisfied. So, with everyone's help here, I've decided to stay in the 4 week preplanned meals.............until we get to Clam Chowder

I have to say I agree with you. We are a young family on a tight budget (i have 3 boys age 7,3and 6mos) and yes even though JC is expensive, I was eating out for lunches everyday (and buying the kids lunch also) and eating out dinner at least 3 times a week with sports and parties with friends (hence the reason my weight is so out of control) and yes the $590 I just pd to Jenny was a tough pill to swallow - however that was for a month of food and I can GUARANTEE I spent more than that eating out on JC. And on top of that my family is also eating each meal at home, packing lunches for my hubs to take to work. So, it is teaching my entire family better eating habits and I think it is saving us money in the long run....I am actually tempted to take all my past bank statements and tally up how much was spent eating out vs. These months on JC....i think it will be an interesting outcome...

So I guess I'm saying I know that JC food is not cheap....but if you compare it to your previous lifestyle, the actual money issue could surprise you. If I ever take e time to tally it all up - I'll be sure to post the results.
I knew going into this that I would pay the price to eat well and have someone do the planning. When it comes down to it, I have someone who cleans my house........so now I have a cook, too.

Years ago, I had an unemployed husband, 3 little boys, and weighed 257........so I've been there when it comes to really tight budgets. The goal is to get the same results. I admire the creativity and homework everyone has done here on the boards..............it has been very helpful to help me chart my course.

Have a good week!

I had to stop buying the food all together it just got way to expensive and your also buying fruits and veggies too. Plus I still had to buy food to feed my husband as well the price of the food is just to costly!!! Which I am saddened by so I stopped going cause I felt like since I was no longer purchasing the food I wasn't getting the same care. My time was quick in and out, not near the support I received when I was buying food. I spent a lot of money to join then you would think for the amount of money you pay to join the food would be cheaper.

If anyone ever needs the price list and for whatever reason your centre won't give it to you then you can ALWAYS call (800) Jenny Care and they'll email you one out :)
