Had a hard day yesterday....I was hungry ALL day...! Besides my JC lunch, someone had to bring pizza to the office...of course I couldnt pass that up, it's my favorite food! Thankfully I only had one slice but I felt horrible afterwards. Then I get home, still famished.....look in the pantry and found peanuts! I figured peanuts are a whole lot better than a bag of M&M's right? So I ate a bunch of those til I felt sick...WHAT THE HECK!
We'll see what the scale says tomorrow, I am not looking forward to it....
OK, you could have done better but you could have done worse.
Just as an FYI, when I had to return to JC this year it was because of NUTS!!!!
I was having some "digestive" problems and my doctor suggested nuts. And they worked. My "problem" was corrected BUT I ate too many nuts and gained 10 lbs. in a month! So, step away from the nuts! They're a "good" fat but they're still a fat.
As for the pizza, yes, I get it. It's my favorite too. But IF, IF, IF you ever find yourself in that position again and you CHOOSE to have that slice of pizza, AT THE LEAST, take a napkin or a paper towel to blot up all of the extra oil and make sure it's a PLAIN slice - even if you have to remove the topping.
And if you're THAT hungry, remember, water, water, water. Drink a glass of water BEFORE a meal and then drink another one to two glasses WITH your meal. You will be surprised to see how much that helps to fill up the "empty" spot.
The other thing is don't forget to keep veggies with you, volumize your meals with them and stash a couple of cans of low sodium veggie juice at work. You'll be getting extra veggies, it goes down easily, it's a FREE food, tastes great AND it also will help you fill up.
Now, you said you were hungry. OK, you're just getting re-started on this so try to figure out the next time if you're actually hungry (as in stomach is growling) or if you're psychologically "hungry" because you just THINK you want/need to eat more. There is a BIG difference there and that's one of the hurdles you're going to have to jump.
The other thing is that it can take your brain 20-30 minutes to recognize your stomach is full. I mean, I've had hunger pangs WHILE I was eating but a half hour later, yes, I was more than full and satisfied without being bloated.
So if you think you're hungry, especially after eating, set a timer or wait 30-60 minutes so that you can actually decide if you NEED something or just WANT something and then you can CHOOSE whether you're willing to live with the consequences of going off plan.
Hang in there. It DOES get easier.
