Hello all! Once again I'm back on JC, and new to this forum thing. The first time, I lost 60 pounds and never thought I would put it back on....but life happens. Anyway, I've been back on JC since October 2011 and have lost 22 pounds, on my way to another 60!
I've been reading posts on here for awhile now and just figured, what the heck, I could use a little motivation! So here I am...fighting the same fight as all of you.

Why is it that losing takes so long, and gaining is SO easy! I suppose if no one had this trouble then we'd all be skinny models, right?

I've been busting my hump, going to the gym 4 to 5 days a week and eat my food religously, and I can only average 2 pounds a week. Any one else in the same boat? I just figured I'd lose a heck of a lot more than that with all the exercising! ugh....guess I cant be upset...at least I'm still losing, right? I'll stop rambling....

Thanks for being here for me when I need a pick me up, I'll be here for all of you too! Happy Holidays!

Hey Harley! Welcome back! I remember you! :)

Yes, it's MUCH easier to put it on than it is to take it off. Bummer! LOL

But losing 2 lbs. a week on average is GREAT!!! In the Jenny Craig promo materials it says that clients lose 1-2 lbs. on average a week so you're doing just fine! I wish I could have lost that much. Mine was generally in ounces, not pounds. :(

But the important part is that you're back and you're losing at a very healthy rate. And this time you CAN make it your LAST time on Jenny. So pay attention to what you're eating - portion control, ratio of protein, carbs, dairy, etc. and you can keep off the weight in the future. And once you get back to goal, IF, IF, IF you see that scale head toward the 5 lb. mark over goal, RUN, DO NOT WALK back to Jenny so that you can get a handle on your weight and make sure that you don't have to look at a big number to lose.

But you're doing it and you're going to be great! Keep up the fantastic pace and please come to the boards often. You'll find support, a lot of laughs, people to cheer you on and to listen when you have problems, offer suggestions and so forth. We're here with you and we've all been on the road you're on or who are traveling with you.

Vrooom, vrooom! Now keep the petal to the metal and you'll see that weight fly off. :)

Thank you Ladies! That's the inspiration I needed! You know how it is, when you're losing weight you want to lose it FAST! lol I better be happy with what I'm losing, like you say, cause slow and easy wins the race, right?
That was my problem last time I went of JC, I let the weight keep creeping up on me and I looked the other way...I didnt even want to see a scale! Not this time! I'm in it for life!

Again, thank you, I will keep looking on here for more words of encouragement among other "Loosers".

Had a hard day yesterday....I was hungry ALL day...! Besides my JC lunch, someone had to bring pizza to the office...of course I couldnt pass that up, it's my favorite food! Thankfully I only had one slice but I felt horrible afterwards. Then I get home, still famished.....look in the pantry and found peanuts! I figured peanuts are a whole lot better than a bag of M&M's right? So I ate a bunch of those til I felt sick...WHAT THE HECK!
We'll see what the scale says tomorrow, I am not looking forward to it....

OK, you could have done better but you could have done worse. :)

Just as an FYI, when I had to return to JC this year it was because of NUTS!!!!

I was having some "digestive" problems and my doctor suggested nuts. And they worked. My "problem" was corrected BUT I ate too many nuts and gained 10 lbs. in a month! So, step away from the nuts! They're a "good" fat but they're still a fat. :(

As for the pizza, yes, I get it. It's my favorite too. But IF, IF, IF you ever find yourself in that position again and you CHOOSE to have that slice of pizza, AT THE LEAST, take a napkin or a paper towel to blot up all of the extra oil and make sure it's a PLAIN slice - even if you have to remove the topping.

And if you're THAT hungry, remember, water, water, water. Drink a glass of water BEFORE a meal and then drink another one to two glasses WITH your meal. You will be surprised to see how much that helps to fill up the "empty" spot.

The other thing is don't forget to keep veggies with you, volumize your meals with them and stash a couple of cans of low sodium veggie juice at work. You'll be getting extra veggies, it goes down easily, it's a FREE food, tastes great AND it also will help you fill up.

Now, you said you were hungry. OK, you're just getting re-started on this so try to figure out the next time if you're actually hungry (as in stomach is growling) or if you're psychologically "hungry" because you just THINK you want/need to eat more. There is a BIG difference there and that's one of the hurdles you're going to have to jump.

The other thing is that it can take your brain 20-30 minutes to recognize your stomach is full. I mean, I've had hunger pangs WHILE I was eating but a half hour later, yes, I was more than full and satisfied without being bloated.

So if you think you're hungry, especially after eating, set a timer or wait 30-60 minutes so that you can actually decide if you NEED something or just WANT something and then you can CHOOSE whether you're willing to live with the consequences of going off plan.

Hang in there. It DOES get easier. :)

I think that's great you're starting the program again...because I'm right there with you. I just switched to the online Jenny services. I will receive my food on December 28th!!!!
I've ordered a step aerobic box and purchased a yoga mat to do a yoga DVD. I find I'm a home body so doing as much working out as possible within at home through this winter will keep me from making excuses about driving to the gym or driving to a local park for a walk.
I'm wishing you all success and patience with all of your weight loss goals
ht 5'4" wt current 197.4 lbs goal wt 130 lbs My reward is purchasing a very select designer outlet new wardrobe!!!!!!!!

Good Luck to you too Bella Girl! It's a new year and it's going to be a new US!
I find that going to a gym is better for me, I need to see other people working out, it keeps me motivated. I threw my back out this weekend so I'm a little tentative on what kind of work out I should do....it doesnt feel bad now but I know if I move the wrong way that will be all she wrote! Stupid Back...... BUT, that's not going to deter me from still working out.

And thank you I Called Jenny, those are some really good ideas! But you know...sometimes that chocolate cake just calls your name!!! LOL I did gain .2 pounds this past week but I was so very happy cause I thought it was going to be like two pounds. I'm back at it again this week and hope to take off another 2.

Good luck to all of you in this New Year! I know we CAN do it!

Then don't keep the chocolate cake in the house! LOL

Yes, it's that simple and that hard.

MY DH doesn't have a weight problem and he does have a sweet tooth so we have a deal, he can bring anything he wants into the house that I don't like. LOL Seriously, I'm not a fan of "Little Debbie" so that's what he can have in the house. On the other hang, if it was Hostess cupcakes or Sno-balls, I would be in "mortal combat" with myself keeping me from eating them, so it's better if they are out of sight, out of mind.

See if you can come up with a happy compromise so you don't have "things calling your name." :)

Sorry about your back. Hope you're better soon. Try walking or doing the eliptical for now until you're feeling better and lay off the weights or maybe hire a trainer for the day to give you some thoughts on what exercises you can do and shouldn't do. It might be worth the investment.
