Hi Everyone,

So next month I'd like to step up my workout and do a little something different.

We have a heavy bag in the basement that my husband bought years ago, but no one ever uses it. So I'd like to start....

Only thing is I have no experience with heavy bag workouts and would like to get a DVD to get me started. Does anyone know if there are any good beginner heavy bag workout dvds out there? I'd rather do a regular heavy bag workout and not aeroboxing.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Kathleen

I would check amazon for dvd's on boxing. I think "campion" puts one out or maybe "everlast". I bought a bag myself a while back and did some searching around on amazon, found a few but never got them. Hmmm, maybe I should.
Good luck.

I agree that you'll probably find a bunch on Amazon. And I better if you do a search on YouTube, you'll find some demos that you can use while you're waiting for your workout videos.

BTW - a heavy bag? Hmmm, whose face are you putting on the bag to punch? :)

Thanks for the suggestions!! I've been looking around on Amazon and Youtube as well. I think there is one by Everlast that I might get.

My husband purchased the heavy bag before we got married (so we could get in shape) and I think he used it twice and then it sat in the garage. 2 years later when we moved, he insisted on hanging it up in the basement (where it still goes unused), so I thought why not? He bought me the gloves and everything (pink ones), so I'll give it a go.

I like thinking ahead about what my next form of workout will be. I've got 5 more weeks of my Last Chance workout, then I'm going to do the Couch 2 5K and then maybe do the heavy bag workout. It might take me a while to get back into full runner mode, but looking forward to the heavy bag workout will help keep me motivated to stick with the running so I can master that and then move on to something else.
