When I was your age I to was big for a girl. I was already 5'7' 140lbs, it was what everybody saw the first thign about in me.how big I am. I know how it was if your mom was not on your side. my mom always commented on anytime I ate something. like REALLY or something hard to hear for a 14 yr old. the thing is if you want to make a better life in the futrue for yourself start now where you can like eat only two cookies oh defintly no soda its the killer of health. jc is a great way to go but legally I bet your parents have to agree to sign you up on jc food.plus unless your rich, yourself they would pay right? plus drink lots of water to. have a great day.

I think 14 is a great time to be thinking about healthy eating habits and your mom needs to be on board to help you with success and to make sure you stay safe while you slim down. As a teen you are under so many pressures already and you need guidance from an adult (friends don't work very well at keeping you from going too far). Have you tried talking to your school nurse yet? Sometime they can be great help and assistance with talking to parents or giving you FREE helpful advise and if your lucky to be in a smaller school they tend to keep an eye on you and can reaffirm your weight loss progress in a positive way. At 14 don't try to be supper model thin but a healthy weight for an ACTIVE teen will help you in the long run (look into a supper models life and job expectancy you'll find it can be pretty short). And honestly boys like girls with a little bit of curve and not a stick that looks fragile to hold.
Wanting to look as skinny as I feel on the inside.
First let start off by saying that you are never to young to make changes in your life. I commend you on having the courage to admit that you need to lose weight. Congrats on going to high school, I wish you all the best. Being skinny and being healthy are two different things. We all want to be small but we also have to do it for the right reasons. When I look at the models on tv, you do see the glitz and glam including how small they are. In my opinion the "skinny" models are not good representations for young girls such far as "weight" is concern. You are a beautiful young lady and like myself I too have been trying to lose weight. I can't tell you what to do but I can say what works for me . I eat a lot of salads, baked chicken, carrots, celery, sliced cucumbers with dip. I also eat talapia, perch and other fish without bones but not everyday. I tend to switch it up. I also like to do Wii Fit Plus - Yoga, Aerobics, and balance games. I also like to walk and do floor excercise. Even though I have back and knee problems I just push myself. I've never tried jenny craig but I heard it is a great program. Ask God to guide you and you will be alright.

just wanted to comment on the suggestion of what to eat for a teen you have to eat much more then we don because they need more calories and nutrients because they are growing looking more at 15-2300 cal. Jenny is an amazing program for teens it will give them all the tools to be healthy and fit adults. Learn to view food as fuel for their body not something to fuel emotions.

I would suggest asking Mom to bring you to the Doctor to get his/her opinion on this one. The teen years can be a tricky time when it comes to weight, health, body image, etc. Your Doctor should be able to help determine if you are at a healthy weight and whether this is the plan that will help if you are not.
Take care!

I used to work for Weight watchers and we had to have a dr's note to allow anyone under 17 to join. Don't think Jenny has an age requirement, but like the poster before me, I definitely feel a doctor's evaluation should take place before a teenager is put on a weight loss program while he or she is still growing.
