I love your attitude and the fact that you realize that models aren't perfect. You have to remember that most of the pictures you see in magazines are airbrushed or Photoshopped in some way so that it LOOKS like their perfect. Heck, they make celebrities look thinner all the time on cover shots of magazines when they're featuring them on the cover (as opposed to a shot taken by a papparazzi).
Kelly Clarkson insisted that they stop making her look thinner than she is. She wanted her fans to be able to see the "real" her.
Now having said all of that, it's possible that the main reason your mom doesn't want you on Jenny is not that you're too young to lose weight (we have a population with too many overweight kids and teens), but rather that it's just not in the family budget. Jenny, while being a great program, is not cheap. It can run anywhere from $125 to $150 a week! That's a lot of money to spend and money is tight these days for many people. So maybe she's using that as an excuse and she's uncomfortable having her child be concerned about money.
My family was in the lower income level when I was growing up. We always had food and a place to live and clothes and all of that, but it wasn't until I was a grown-up that I found out just how poor we really were. Parents like to protect their kids from stuff like that.
Also, there's nothing "magic" about being on the Jenny Craig program. It's all about portion control and the ratio of meat to starches to sugars to veggies.
So if you want to lose weight, you CAN do it without Jenny if you can't get your mother to let you join the program for WHATEVER reason she may have.
People gain weight because they eat too much of the wrong things. So if you want to be like the mature young lady that you sound like you are, you are going to have to take control of what you're eating.
For instance, for breakfast, you can have a cup of cereal and low-fat (1%) or fat free milk and some no-cal sweetener in it. You can have a piece of fruit with breakfast or, if you can fit it into a break between classes, have a piece of fruit 2-3 hours later. For lunch, have a salad with some FF dressing and a half a sandwich with some lean meat like chicken or turkey or even boiled ham. If you want to put mayo on the sandwich, it has to be FF mayo. In the mid-afternoon, have another piece of fruit (2-3 hours after lunch). For dinner, have whatever your mom makes for dinner but have HALF of what you would normally eat. After dinner, you can have a 100 calorie snack that they sell at the grocery store. That's it. It's that simple and that hard.
Cut out the starches like potatoes and rice (or cut them waaaaay down). Cut out the fat (no mayo, butter, oil, etc.). You want to put some peanut butter on your fruit, fine. Just limit it to two LEVEL teaspoons and only do that once or twice a week.
No candy, no ice cream (unless it's FF or under 150 calories and that's your snack). No chips, no soda.
Drink a MINIMUM of eight, 8 oz. glasses of water a day.
And get some exercise. Don't sit in front of the TV and snack. Go join a team in school. Have your friends over and dance. Do you have a game player like Wii? Then ask for a dance or exercise game for Christmas or buy one yourself with baby-sitting money.
If you do all of that, you WILL lose the weight.
It's that simple and the only person who can do that is you. So if your mom won't (or can't) let you join Jenny, then don't pout or make a big stink out of it. She wants what's best for you but she may not be able to give you what you want at this time. But I bet she won't object to buying you sugar-free cereal or fruit or salad or FF salad dressings.
If she sees you're serious about this and you start to exercise and lose weight, I bet your mom will be right behind you in all of this. Hang in there and feel free to come to the boards whenever you want for ideas.
Good luck!

First post but it have to tell you that What you said makes sense about models and perfect bodies. My mom went on and on about weight my whole life and that's been a long time. I always believed I was fat at 5'7" and 155 lbs. Not true I see haha. I have read alot of posts and everybody shares what they are weighing. I have NEVER told anybody my weight until I read this forum and it's not that bad now that I have lost some. I am 139.5 lbs and feel healthy and strong and want to continue the exercise program I began along with the diet. You are 5" shorter than me and weigh 5 lbs less and look like a million bucks. All the people who posted their pictures and weights look fantastic and none of them has a models numbers. Real women at real sizes, it's a good role model for young women everywhere.

And, Really Jenny, you're 139.5 at 5'7? Wow! You're slim! Good for you!
I'm 5'2 and (as of today) 130 and I'm starting to fall out of my size 6s and am wondering if I'm going to need a 4 so you must look FANTASTIC!
My body is well proportioned so I'm perfectly happy with this weight. I know others at my height who want to be 110 or 120, but I think, for me, I'm pretty much where I should be.

Yes, there's something strange going on with the posting. Instead of making the changes to the fonts or doing the quotes the way they're supposed to look, it's coming out with the programming info. But I know they're working on the site so that's probably why.

it seemed like 134 was at the higher end of what a 5'2" frame would be at which is why you are dropping more weight i think.

I know what you mean and that's true by the charts but if you saw me, except for the belly bulge which only more exercise than I'm able to do would help, I'm still small and my doctor doesn't want me to lose more weight. But, yes, by the charts, I should be thinner. But then again, I never fit into anyone's "averages" anyway. LOL

Thanks for the compliments! Can I hire you as my press agent?
Actually at the moment I'm "off" Jenny foods. After I hit goal four years ago, I stopped eating Jenny Craig food but still maintained - which was a good thing. Earlier this year, I did something stupid, (was trying to fix a digestion problem with nuts as directed but ate WAAAAYYY too many of them and regained 10 lbs. but didn't make the connection between the nuts and the weight gain - DUH).
Anyway, went back to JC and lost it and then maintained between MOMOs and JC. So I tried an experiment and only did MOMOs to see if I could eat "normally" and maintain. Well, it's the second week, I'm down 2 lbs. and I think I have my "mojo" back again so that I do now what to eat and when and keep it off. But if I start to slip, you can BET I'll run right back to Jenny.

Jen, sorry, but there was some confusion. Really Jenny was quoting a previous post of mine. She had said that for my height I still was at the high end of the "average" weight range for my height. I was telling her that I was comfortable at my weight and that I knew I didn't fit the average and that my doctor had said not to lose more.
I understand your confusion because when she "quoted" me, it came out as if she was talking about herself rather than "quoting" my post..
