I am getting slightly disappointed with my results from JC. I started the first of August, 2011 and have only lost 17lbs. I'm also getting tired of the food and have tried to eat some of MOMO, but Was wondering if anyone else was having the same type of trouble? I know as you get older, I'm 55, your metabolism slows down, but I didn't think that much. Would like to hear from anyone having same problems. Thanks

I was in my late 50s when I started Jenny and it did take me over a year to lose 45 lbs. Admittedly, because of my job I had to eat off plan WAAAY too often and that likely slowed it down. But let's get back to you.

First, if you don't get a lot of responses on this subject right away, don't take it personally. There are problems with the boards that likely won't get fixed over the weekend. A lot of the topics aren't showing up so people might not find your post right away.

Now, tell me something. First, what does your JCC have to say about the slowness of your loss?

Are you exercising? If so, how often and how much are you exercising?

Are you taking medications that could slow down your weight loss? Do you have a medical condition (like thyroid problems) that could cause a slower weight loss?

Are you drinking a MINIMUM of 64 oz. of water a day? Are you eating ON PLAN every 2-3 hours? Do you have a lot to lose? (The reason for that question is that the less you have to lose, the less our bodies seem to want to give up the weight.)

All of these can contribute to a slow weight loss besides being "older." ;)

When you do MOMOs, what are you eating?

Are you eating enough? I mean, are you volumizing your meals with non-starchy veggies?

Are you REALLY sticking to the plan or are you cheating...just a little?

I know it's tough when you're trying to stay on the plan and you're not seeing the results you hope for but there is usually a reason.

Are you consistently losing (more or less) but just losing in ounces? What's specifically going on?

If you can share with us what is going on with you that could possibly slow your loss, perhaps we can offer some suggestions to help you break out of this slow decline.

We all want to help each other and you but in order to give you any "intelligent" suggestions, can you please share a bit more about your journey?

We'll get you through this but any or all of us would need a few more details to help. Hang in there. Hopefully with more details, the "posse" is on the way. :)

Sorry to hear you are frustrated....I completely understand. Its normal to want to see results back from the efforts you put forth.

I agree, it is ALOT harder to lose weight as we get older....not a little, but ALOT! lol.....but it can and will happen with perseverance.....and alot of patients. As the saying goes, you didnt gain it overnight, so you wont lose it overnight either.....so true!

There are alot of things that come into play that could be causing the slow losses.....meds, medical issues, bloating, too much sodium etc...

Hang in there and keep on focusing on the end result....YOU WILL GET THERE!!!!!! :)

Love that, Kelly! Now, just imagine what a nice big loss you'll see at the next WI! :)

We have a group page on FB so we can chat whenever we want off-topic or when the JC boards are down. I think the link is: http://www.facebook....49712651798496/

If not, check out JC Off-Topic on FB groups. :)

I can certainly relate too. Looking back, in my 30s with a few changes and some exercise, the weight used to fall off of me. I didn't think it was fast enough back then...I would love it to be that fast again. It's funny too that looking at pictures where I thought I was fat...now I would totally love to have that body. Oh well, with age comes wisdom I guess.
