Hi, I just joined a gym and have a good cardio routine down. But I am looking for ideas on how to do abs, arms and legs...I know there is a whole trick to keep switching it up...BUT I just dont know what to do to switch it up...I would get a trainer if it did cost so much. Any tips would be great or if you know of any websites/book to check out that have good exercise routines. Thanks friends!

YouTube.com has a whole bunch of exercise videos you can watch for free. Jillian Michaels has videos too (as do other "fitness gurus") but you usually have to buy those. So check out YouTube and be your own "trainer." :)

 Elysium,

Check out the website for Prevention magazine...prevention.com because their website has alot of information on exercise and nutrition. Other websites to check out are Womenshealth.com, Sparkpeople.com. Also be sure to check out the Jenny web site in either how it works or tools because one of them has a fitness section. If you want to do a broad search on the internet type in core exercise, strength training, yoga, zumba or just plain physical fitness and alot of sites will pop up. Go to the library and look in the card catelog on physical fitness. There is a ton of free information available.

Inquire at your gym on free group classes. My own gym rotates several 1 hour classes throughout the week on body toning, yoga along with Zumba classes. See if they off free physical assessments.

I've been working with several personal trainers this past year and have learned alot and have built up more self confidence. Yes it was pricey but I feel more confident now to do this on my own.

Good luck !!!

I like to go to: www.sport-fitness-advisor.com/dumbellexercises.html then just scroll down. It not only tells you about each exercise, but shows you how to do them. I have 10lb dumbbells at work (keep that a secret) and when things are slow, I pull them out and log on.

Go down to under #5 and you will see the purple, click here to see exercises.

I would get a couple fitness mags. Your profile does not let me know if your male or female. For a woman i would get " oxygen" or "fitness rx" for a man I would get "muscle and fitness" or something like that. These mags usually have a whole routine in them.

Also most gyms will give you a personal training session free for new members. They at least should show you around the gym and have a general workout routine on paper they can give you. You might need someone to show you how to do the exercises properly though. You need to have correct form or you could hurt yourself.

good luck.
