The lifetime member is no longer...the cost of the food is about 125.00 per week...you will have to call and see where you are with the program, they are offering something different for the lifetime members

Actually Lifetime members still retain their lifetime program. You can simply walk into a center and make sure they reactivate it!

You are right. I am a lifetime member and all you have to do is go in and get signed up and just buy the food you want with no additional cost!

No, the "ruckus" wasn't about lifetime memberships, it was about the discontinuation of the rewards discounts.

We always had the ability to have our membership (although some of us had to pay a small yearly fee) but it was the end of the discounts that was upsetting people.

Sorry to hear that, Jen. I'm sure that's just as frustrating for the "lifetime" members as the ending of the "rewards" were for us.

Maybe you can check with Fit and see if he has any insights.

So...the cost is about $125.00 per week? I am thinking of joining as well and needed to know the costs associated. Is there a one-time sign-up fee and then the weekly cost of food for however long they say it'll take you to lose the specific amount of weight wanted to lose? Also, are there any other fees or any discounts as you lose, etc.? Thanks so much for any help and/or info!

As for the "one-time" fee, that depends on the program. Under the Jenny, Set, Go Plan, you pay $30 for 28 days plus food. (That's fine if you don't have much to lose or you can budget better that way but once you stop paying monthly, you aren't entitled to maintenance check-ups.)

On the general membership fee, it's several hundred dollars (don't know the price but you can call 1800-597-5366 and ask) plus the cost of food. After that you pay a small annual renewal fee if you still want to have access to a JCC once you've hit goal and want to go in for monthly maintenance checks or if, heaven forbid, you need to return should you regain any weight back.

Marian, Jenny Craig was voted the number 1 diet plan for a reason. It works!

There are a couple of different plan options so you would do best to call and speak to a JC rep to find out the plan that's best for you. I know some people have received half of their enrollment money either at halfway or when they hit goal (sorry, I was on a different plan so I can't speak about that).

I do know that the plan works and if you look at it as a way of changing your relationship with food, you'll not only take it off but keep it off! And isn't that the best kind of diet?

It likely will cost around $125 to $150 a week in food. Yes, I know that sounds like a lot but if you consider what you're now spending on food (meals at home, going out, snacks, etc.), it really isn't as expensive as it sounds. Again, this is also about losing the weight to not only be thinner but also healthier. So think about what you can save in medical costs, medications, etc. just because you're back in a healthier, more fit body! Again, this is an investment in your life and ESPECIALLY since you have a child to take care of and a loving hubby.

As for reaching your goal, on average people lose 1-2 lbs. a week. Some people lose more; others a little less. But if you're willing to stay on plan and get in exercise every day, if you're not completely at your goal you will be sooooo very close to it.

Make the call. I promise that you'll be glad you did. And you'll find all sorts of support from folks here on the boards. We're like a great big family that just wants to see each other succeed. We'll answer questions, listen to problems, share our successes and commiserate over challenges. So please join our "family." We'd love to have you here.

You can do it and we (along with Jenny Craig) can help! :)
