I am 4 pounds away from my halfway goal, and I have lost just over 40 pounds since the beginning of August. I am really starting to lose speed, and getting bored with the meals. I know its a good idea to keep eating them, but am starting to skip meals to cook my own food, which then makes the Jenny food a waste of money. Anyone have any ideas about how I can get a boost of energy here and keep up with my weight loss?? I dont know if a break is what I need, or if I should persevere... I have been doing a great job with exercise, and that is something I have been very consistent with...

Any ideas or inspiration?!

Hi Manda!

Welcome to the boards and congrats on your exceptional weight loss so far! :)

When you reach halfway, you should start doing MOMOs (meals on your own) anyway so that you can start to learn what to eat and how to stay on track. It also gives you time, if you make some mistakes, to learn from them while you're still in the losing process.

Just curious, do you eat the Jenny foods strictly the way they are or have you been playing around with the foods - volumizing, changing them up and so forth?

Most of us have been "switching things up" by adding spices, changing cooking methods, etc. to help fix the boredom factor.

For instance, doing something as simple as cooking a meal in the oven will change the texture of the food and the taste rather than only using the microwave.

For the fajitas, for instance, I'll cook the filling in a skillet coated in Pam on fairly high heat and toss in the flavoring packet, garlic, hot pepper flakes and other spices. It gives it a "blackened" taste. Then I'll remove the filling and spray the fajitas with Pam and then "toast" them in the same frying pan making them a little crunchy - sort of a cross between a fajita and a taco. I'll add salsa and some Wholly Guacamole. It comes in three 100-calorie packets to a box and there's plain guacamole and spicy guacamole.

If you add the guacamole, I cut out a fat elsewhere on my menu. But I'll use like a single packet in a day. Some will go on a breakfast sandwich or a turkey burger and the rest will go on the fajitas.

You also can buy 100 calorie snacks in the grocery store which will save you money and give you some different alternatives too.

First, here's the link to the Jenny Halfway Success Guide (in case your JCC doesn't give one to you).

One of our girls (BelugaBabe) put together a list of other "diet" foods that will give you some alternatives to try. Here's the link: Jenny food alternatives

Hope you'll come to the boards more often to let us support you and help you to achieve the second half of your journey. :)

Burnout at half way is a problem, because the new has worn off and you're getting sick of eating the same thing day after day. What is did is preplan some MOMO's in advance, and skip the Jenny food maybe one lunch and one dinner a week. I altered my food order from Jenny so I wouldn't stockpile food, and any week I didn't lose anything, the next week I'd eat all Jenny again. Most weeks I would still lose, and it gave me good ideas of things I could eat when I went on maintenance fulltime. Learning how to eat when this is over is the main thing, or you'll be right back in the same boat.
