Hi all,

I've been working on a personalized variation of the C25K and my progress has been slow but steady. I've been using my treadmill and would like to venture out into the world but have found that I can't run for more than 10 minutes at a time without RUNNING for the restroom. Yes, I alway try to "go" before starting my exercise. Anyone else experienced this problem? If so, do you think that the Jenny Craig cuisine is acting as a laxative? Any advice or suggestions??? :(

I really think it is just the activity makes everything move. I have had the same experience so you're not alone.

Thanks for the response, CuriouserAndCuriouser. I've started running outside and build all of my routes around a restroom about 1 to 1-1/2 miles in. I'd love to run a 5K race, but what if there is no bathroom on the race route? :o Plus, the bathroom pitstop really hurts my time. Grrrrrr....

a fun thing about running is that it makes you go. this is a very common issue. i've run several races and 2 1/2 marathons with a bunch of my friends. if it's a serious issue, it may be runner's colitis (sp?), but otherwise there are several things you can do to ease the situation. limiting caffeine and watching what you eat right before you run are both things to try, otherwise google it. you'll be amazed (or grossed out) at how often this happens. i would reference a website specifically geared towards running to make sure the information you're reading is accurate. hope this helps and good luck on your race! :)

"Runner's Trots," it's called. Fun stuff, right? As you exercise, the food in your digestive system gets moving a little faster. try to "take care of business" before you go for your run. Best of luck! :)
