My history at this time of the year has always been, "I blew it. It's to hard to lose or even keep from gaining between now and New Years. I'll eat everything I feel like until January 1, then start a diet."
Has anyone ever felt like that?
I want this new year to be different. I have lost about 30 pounds since May. It's been hard work and I don't want to undo the good I've done.
Is anyone interested in supporting each other to get through the Bermuda Triangle of Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years Eve?

You know I'm there with you! Why put off until tomorrow what you can achieve today. After all, tomorrow's not a guarantee, so do what you need/want to get done now. :)

HAHAHA! Love the Bermuda Triangle analogy! I've found that I can enjoy small portions, and still enjoy the same thing as everyone else. On Thanksgiving we had to stay overnight at the Miami airport. We went to a restaurant on the 7th floor of the hotel at the airport. They had a prix fixe meal for $22 -- salad, turkey, sweet potato, whipped potatoes, green beans, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and pumpkin pie. It seemed very wasteful but I just had a few bites of everything (except all my green beans). More than 2/3 of my plate went back to the kitchen trash. But what's the difference? If I had eaten it I would have felt stuffed & uncomfortable ... mad at myself the next day. We have to get over hearing our mother's voice urging us to belong to the Clean Plate Club! I think it's especially true for those of us whose parents were young adults during the Depression and they saw waste as a sin. We had been on vacation for a week in St. Kitts & I tried to keep that in mind. Net result? I didn't lose any weight during the week, but I didn't gain either! To me, that's a successful vacation week. That's how I'll get through the holiday feast days without gaining.

Good for you!!! That's a great attitude. Just sorry you had to spend the night at the Miami airport. I mean as far as airports go, it's not bad, but still...

Anyway, welcome back from your vacation and congrats on a no gain trip! That's awesome! :)

I consider breaking even on vacation a success also, especially over the Thanksgiving holiday. Congratulations & keep up the good work.

I gained .8 of a pound for Thanksgiving week. I'm going away for a mini vacation to Cape Cod for 2 days. The goal for the week is to break even. I have 6.8 pounds to goal - One day at a time - Keep on keeping on.
