Hi everyone!

I just started Jenny on Friday, and signed up with the Jenny-Set-Go program. My Jcc was telling me that was the only option, or pay the 400 plus the cost of food for the Metabolic Max program. It's not that I don't want to be on Jenny for a year, However I only have about 15-20 lbs to lose. I expect to lose 10 lbs this first month [I'm working with a trainer, as well]. To pay 400 dollars plus food just to lose 10 more lbs seems a little excessive to me?

Does anybody else have this problem? Can I go to another Centre just to do the one month Jenny set go program Again once my month is up?

Any ideas?

-Glenna

Call the center again. What was the cost of the Jenny, Set, Go plan? They used to have a 20 lbs. for $20 plan. Is it basically the same thing?

If so, you might be able to finish that plan, go off for a couple of weeks, and resign with that. I mean, I know people who keep doing the 20 lbs. for $20 over and over, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to but I do know that they have "revamped" the program so that might not be an option.

And if you can't do that, let us know. We'll "talk you through" losing that last 10 lbs. other ways. It may not be as fast as doing JC but it will definitely get you through this since you don't have that much to lose.

Glenna, If you only have 20 lbs to lose you don't need the full plan. I just joined the Jillian Michael's (from the biggest loser) website where she gives you an exercise plan and food plan and you can lose the last 10 lbs by simply exercising and eating right. The big plans are for those of us that need to lose 50 or more pounds. I can't put the website on here or they will yell at me but you should be able to find the site with a search. My name on there is Valerie0118. I'm transitioning out of Jenny Craig right now because it is time for me. I have already lost another 5 pounds by kicking up my exercise. The Jenny Craig program is a great program and great food for those that need to stick to a program for several years. That doesn't sound like what you need.

Honestly Glenna, Jenny might not be the way to go for you. Ask your trainer if he/she can suggest a meal plan or recommend a nutritionist. A one time fee with a session with a nutritionist might be worth it.

PM if you would like further info. Working with a trainer might put you in a better position to learn your foo intake on your own instead of through jenny. My personal experience has taught me that I needed to consult with a nutritionist after I started running and working out with a trainer.

Just a thought...

I just [honestly] like the convenience from jenny... i KNOW i can do weight watchers, and i KNOW weight watchers can work for me. However, why i joined was because i don't want to THINK. I don't want to PLAN.

I know it sounds kind of ridiculous.. I guess it's just part of growing up...

Thank you for your help! I guess i will just see how this month goes, and then do my own thing to lose the last few pounds.

Glenna,

Someone just wrote that they talked to their JCC and you can renew the Jenny, Set, Go program for $30, so if you finish this first round (I'm assuming this is the program you're on now), you can still stick with the plan if you want to lose those last few pounds and still have the JC convenience. :)

You can find the info here: Jenny, Set, Go

Hey Glenna,
I guess you could call me the prodigal Jenny client. I've started and stopped the program on 3 different occasions for various reasons. Nonetheless, it's a sound program and I'm back! When I started the first time, the representative sat down with my husband and I and pretty much told me that I had to do the $400 program in order to achoeve my weightloss goal. Wasn't to impressed with her "sales pitch" and was actually turned off of the program. You have to remember that althought the program is awesome (lost 19 lbs the first time, only gained back 6...all inclusive vacation!) at the end of the day, it is a business and reps are rewarded for selling/locking you into the $400 program. However, the center I'm at now is wicked! I explained my goals to the rep as well as my financial situation, and she basically informed me that I could just renew the Jenny-set-go program when the 28 days is up and continue my progress. So basically, no, you don't have to go to a different centre to continue. There is no stipulation or fine print that states that the 28 day program is a one time deal that cannot be re-purchased upon completion. I've been coming and going with Jenny for the past year and a half and I have in total paid between $60-$80 in program fees! Don't let anyone push you into spending that kind of money girl.
Good luck!
J

I was just there today and was offered a 4 week extension plan for $15. I am doing the 20 dollars for 20 pounds plan. I have lost 16 but have another 19 to go. They said I could pay the $15 and continue for a month or get 25 percent off the $399 plan only good until next week. Is $300 a good deal for the yearly membership. I don't want the metabolic max just the regular plan. I hate being pressured but I know they make money that way but the food costs a lot already. I love the program and want to continue my journey. Is the $300 a good deal?

It depends. Can you lose the 19 in six weeks? Do you mind not having any support during maintenance (other than us, of course) and if you ever need to come back you have to start all over.

Even with the full plan, there's an annual maintenance fee of around $50. Yes, I think it's worth it but that's your decision. Do the math.

Ask, however,if the discounted plan they're offering will also give you half back when you hit goal and maintain (within 5 lbs) for a year and attend monthly meetings with your JCC to check in.

Ultimately, you have to decide what's best for you and what you can afford.

19 pounds is 6 weeks is pretty aggressive no I am sure it will take me longer. Yes she said that deal would count and it would only be $49 per year after that once I pay the $300. I want to continue but it seems like a lot of money! I will probably just pay it and then no I am good until next November! Thanks!
