I reached my half way goal this week. I have lost 40lbs. I have to say before Jenny I never thought it was possible. I had tried every diet I could find, working out, pills and even considered surgery. My aunt lost 20lbs on the program and I figured I would give it a try. Since June 3rd (my start date) I have lost my first 40lbs. The most I had lost since I started trying to was 12lbs for my wedding and I gained that back plus more.

I am tried with my loss, but I admit I am little nervous. I know that at this point you start doing meals on your own. I have done alright with eating out, but making food at home worries me. I have never done well with that. I hate cooking and know that is gonna be tough. I also worry because I have heard the more you lose the harder it gets. I am worried the second half is gonna be really hard.

I love this program and thank God for it. It has saved my life. It has given me parts of my life back. It has given me strength to try things I was afraid to do before. I hope to be posting that I reach my goal sometime in the spring.

Congrats, Kristen! That's a MAJOR accomplishment. :)

As far as maintenance, don't get yourself too worried. Hey, if you don't like to cook and you are fine with eating out, no one says you MUST give up your JC foods.

There are a number of people who literally live on JC foods long after they hit goal. Some stay with it all the time and just add a few more things to maintain their weight, others eat JC during the week and "enjoy" themselves on weekends.

But it might be that you don't like to cook because you don't do it very often. Personally I find cooking relaxing and because of my DH's work schedule, I don't get to do it very often. But like anything else, cooking takes practice. The more you do it, the better you'll get at it. So experiment with foods for the MOMOs and, if you don't like what you make, just make sure you have a JC meal to back it up.

Perhaps you can try breakfast at first or maybe making yourself lunch one or two times a week. It doesn't have to anything complicated. Perhaps you can do some simple sandwiches with the right type of sandwich filling. Your JCC should be able to help you and there are bunches of recipes on the RECIPE forum for all sorts of meals.

Hang in there. I'm sure JC was "scary" at first too. That's why easing into MOMOs and DOMOs while you're at halfway is such a good idea. It will help you get used to what you can and can't cook and/or eat. It's all part of the learning process. :)

Congratulations on hitting the 40. I am down 40 also and joined June 16th. I have about 25 or a little less to lose. I am also worried about the MOMO, in fact haven't really discussed it. Told my JCC that I didn't feel ready yet so I am using Healthy choice, WW, and other meals for now. I know I have to eventually face it, but I will when I feel I can. You can do it, I can do it, we all can do it.

Wow! 40 pounds, you ROCK! :D

Don't be so worried about the MOMO's, remember to keep a positive attitude and that everything will turn out fine! (Repeat after me: Everything will turn out fine! ;) )

I hear you about not liking to cook though, I'm in the same boat. But there are tons of easy-to-make meals that aren't too hard to master. Maybe try some crock-pot recipes? Start small with sandwiches or spagetti, that's what I plan to do. Keep in mind everything you have learned regarding portion-control and calorie allotment and you should be fine. You've already come so far, and even if the second half of your journey is a little bit harder, remember that it is TOTALLY WORTH IT!

Thank you all for the support. It means so much. So many of you have reached your goal or at least halfway and that gives me faith that I can continue to do as well as I have been. My husband is doing with program with me (he has lost 40 some pounds already, but has to lose more to reach his halfway. He is being a big support system. I think for some of the dinners we are going to do some on the weekends to start so we can do them together. He likes to cook more than I do and is a lot better at it. I also have a great support of my mother and grandmother. This board is wonderful too.
