Question , i finished week 4 of couchto5k and got the flu. Havent exercised in 8 days. I am feeling much better now and can breathe better. I am planning on restarting tomorrow. Do you guys think i should just go on to week 5 or should i do week 4 again ( or just start all over with week 1) ???
I'm wondering how long i will last since i had that long of a break.

Glad to hear you are feeling better!

You could always try week 5 and if it doesn't work out drop back to week 4. I will say the jump to week 5 is the hardest that you do in my humble opinion. I did week 4 for 2 weeks. Just don't over do it and get hurt!

I agree that trying week 5 and if that doesn't work going back to week 4 makes the most sense. Definitely don't start over at week 1 - I'm sure your endurance didn't drop that much by taking a week off, and starting over again could be really demotivating!

Melissa, Couch to 5k is a walking/running program that gives you guidance on how long to walk/jog/run every week to build up from not running at all to being able to endure a 5k. I'm just in the beginning weeks, but there are 9 "weeks" altogether. You can find out more info here: http://www.coolrunni...2_3/index.shtml and can see the full overview if you click on "print running plan." :)

Thanks for the advice guys! I didnt go yet. I hate stopping my routine; the hardest part of getting back into exercise is the first day. Its now 9 days and i just cant get my motivation back again.

I am in week 5 of c25k too I've had sometimes where I don't get to do it 3 days a week and so far I've been able to just get back to where I left off. It's mostly because having to work late...haven't been able to do all week so will just try from where I stopped and drop back if I need to. I notice a big difference in the weight loss as when I'm able to do it all week I've lost a couple pounds a week versus this week I had a gain of 0.2 .... It's also because it's so easy for me to be lazy and sit on the couch instead of getting out there.
