I returned to the program last week and want to join the chat room and am trying to figure out how. This is a test to see if it works.

Welcome! There is a chat room (where you can type and chat to talk to people live) and there are the forums (which is what this is).

At the top of the page where you see the listings of FORUMS, MEMBERS, COMMUNITY AND CHAT, you will sometimes see a number next to CHAT and that will tell you how many people are in the chat room. It's usually not terribly active. But these boards on the forum are, so post away. We'd love to cheer you on, hear about your journey, answer questions and get to know you in general.
