What are your winter exercise plans??

I realize that not everyone has the problem of adjusting your exercise plans for the winter months, but for those that are in the northern areas of the country, it can be a real issue.
For example, I have been walking and biking all summer. This has worked great for me (as a non-native exerciser!!) but the time is coming up really quickly that there will be snow on the ground and those 2 options are done until Spring. So, I have been in the process of figuring out how I am going to continue to get enough exercise so I don't go into a stall over the Holidays and beyond.
My Plans:
1, Just bought a recumbent exercise bike and planted it right in front of my TV. At least 30 minutes per day.... minimum!!!
2. Dust off the treadmill and plug it in and use it!! We mounted another TV right in front of it on the wall. At least 30 minutes per day.... minimum!!!
3. Investigate a new boxing club that just opened up around the corner. No plans yet, but curious about it.
What are YOUR plans???

Since we already got hit with snow in the Northeast, much like last year I foresee snow shoveling as part of my winter regimen

LOL - actually that's WHY we moved to Florida! Seriously!
My last winter in NY there was an ice storm while I was at work and it took me a couple of hours in the freezing rain/sleet to chip my way into my car! That was it. I was through. Then when we came to FL on vacation and I realized that people LIVED here, my DH and I decided to move. No family, no friends, no jobs - just gorgeous weather. (Of course that's the type of irrational decision you can make when you're in your early 20s. Now I'd have to have all sorts of plans and decisions in place. But, still, it was the best decision we could have made.)
We actually look forward to winter because then it's not so oppressively hot (of course, you don't have to shovel "heat" - LOL) that you can actually walk outside without dying of the heat and humidity.
But we DO get some cold weather and we often look forward to the unseasonable cold - 30s to 40s - for short periods. But last winter, it stayed that way for about a month! Besides almost destroying the tourism business and crops, the "novelty" of the cold got old very quickly and we were thrilled when it went back into the 60s and 70s (most people down here don't own winter coats, hats or gloves).
So, yes, I will be doing more walking outside my home (as opposed to in front of the TV with a Leslie Sansone video).

For me, the bigger challenge is the start of "busy season" after the first of the year. While I trust my ability to keep going with the JC foods during that time, exercise can be tough when you are working A LOT and not sleeping enough.

I don't want to return to the gym for a couple of reasons; but what I have been rearranging my finances for is to resume taking dance lessons. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will see two hours in the evenings when I could attend dance classes (well every other thursday at least) and the lovely thing about the dance studio is that I'd be able to take an extra shirt for me to change into, and the parking lot is much smaller. Fridays will see one class I am interested in attending, and Saturdays also offer a class. I like the dancing a lot more than the gym, even though I do recognize that the gym, much like my walks, offers a steady pace of exercise, where as with the dancing there are periodic interuptions to the activity for instructions or just the need to rest. But to be honest, hoping for 2 hours of dancing three days a week is setting a high goal, but since I have spent the last two months working m walking up to a comfortable 1 hour four or five times a week, I think I could do well with the dancing. Even if it was just one hour four or five nights a week like I was doing before over the summer that would be awesome.
there is also an exercise bike in the spare bedroom at my home that my parents bought for me a year or two ago that i never really used because my large belly made well, difficult, uncomfortable, upset my stomach, etc etc to use; but I figure even if I just start doing five minutes on it each day then that would be a good thing. Plus when the rain comes, I'm going to have to rely on that bike and my exercise/dance videos at home. And some day i'll be more fit and ready to take up those yoga - pilate videos again (but last time I did that stuff i was 150 lbs. lighter so will probably have to file those as long term options).
anyway those are all my thoughts and beginnings of plans, thanks for letting me share them.
